With the warm days of summer just around the corner now, it’s time to start thinking about your summer wardrobe. This year, tunics are trending more than in the past few years but how can you best wear these mid-thigh tops if you are not comfortable showing too much leg? There are actually a few really cute ways to wear tunics and with a little creativity, you can fashion a style of your own just by wearing tunics in a variety of ways. You can show a bit of leg or not. It’s all up to you and how you are feeling in the moment. Just know that no matter how you choose to wear a tunic, you can’t go wrong.

1. Glam Look with Patterned Tights

Tunics will fit right in with another trend that is hot this summer. That is the glam look achieved with a few makeup tricks like lash extensions and ruby red lips. Now, all you need is a tunic, fashionable designer Heist patterned tights and a pair of platform soled high heels and you’ll be rocking whatever club you set your sights on for the night. It’s all about getting the right look to match the ‘tude. Remember, it’s the image you’re after so don’t forget the sultry gaze to complete the look.

2. Leggings and Knee-High Boots

For several years now, leggings have been making their mark on the world of fashion. In fact, throughout history leggings have made comeback after comeback. One step up from tights or hose, leggings conform to the leg which is why they are called leggings after all. You will have no trouble finding leggings that fit to go along with a tunic and knee-high boots, but this is where you’ll need to figure out exactly what kind of boots you’ll be wearing this year. There are so many styles to choose from, you might end up with two or three or even four different fashionable boots. Depending on the tunic you buy, you can even go with over-the-knee boots reminiscent of wading boots you wore back in the day when fishing with your dad. In fact, if it’s the wading look that you’re after, forget the leggings and simply go with the tunic and boots. What a kick that will be!

3. Go Retro with Bell Bottom Jeans

Now, this is a blast from the past! How often have you heard those pants with the wide flare from the knee down referred to as bell-bottoms? That’s a fashion term originating from the late 60s and patterned after the bell-bottoms worn by sailors of the day. In fact, bell-bottoms trended well into the ‘70s and were even the name of a track, Bell Bottom Blues, laid down by Eric Clapton on the Derrick and the Dominoes album. The song was thought to be about Clapton’s love for fashion model wife of George Harrison, but to this day, it’s a mystery after all. Throughout the ensuing decades between then and now, they have re-emerged at the height of fashion. Now it’s their turn to shine once again when paired with tunic tops for the summer of 2022.

So, whether you want to show a bit of leg with patterned tights or would rather go glam or retro, you can’t do better than to create your own look with tunic and accessories. Do them up anyway you like but don the tunic and you’re good to go.
