It’s safe to say that over the last few years, most people have been hanging at home more than ever before. With many jobs changing their structure to have their employees work remotely and with the lack of places to travel to as frequently, we’ve found ourselves at home… and with a lot more free time, too.

So, naturally, people have been giving all of their favorite hobbies a try. I can say that this year alone, I’ve picked up learning the violin as well as learning how to wire. Plus, I’ve been reading more. So, with much more time in your home, what activities have you been doing more of? If you haven’t and are looking for some fun hobbies to pick up to entertain yourself with, allow me to provide you with some fun ideas! Think about trying any of these ways to entertain yourself while hanging out at home.

Play Games

If you want more interaction than you’re going to get by watching tv, yet you aren’t quite the adventurous type wanting to start your own stream, think about picking up an interactive hobby- gaming. Playing games, whether they be RPGs or fun casino games like cookie casino, is a great way to exercise your mind while also having fun.

Streaming or Binge Watching

Televisions have fascinated us since they were first invented. Honestly, who doesn’t love sitting back, relaxing and watching their favorite show? With more time at home, perhaps, now, we can finally start binge watching that one show we’ve been saying we’re going to start for the longest time. Now that we have the time, think about picking up the shows you’ve been putting to the side. Or, if you’re feeling really ambitious, think about starting your own stream on Twitch or YouTube. Create daily streams about topics or hobbies that you consider yourself an expert in. That way, you can have fun, create something new, and interact with others over your computer.

Read a Book

If you love creating fantasies in your own mind or are one of those people who loves to daydream, then reading a book could be a fabulous outlet for you. Reading is a personal favorite hobby of mine because there are so many options to strike your fancy on the daily. You can read things that can help you improve your daily life or learn new skills. You can read stories that allow you to relax, go on an adventure in your mind, and have fun. The options of available books are really unlimited. So, if you’re willing to try opening up a book, I’d strongly recommend this hobby to help make you a more cultured, well-rounded person. Or, again, if you’re feeling really adventurous, try writing your own story! If you have a story in your mind you want to tell, now’s the time to bring it to life by putting pen to paper.

Try Creating

Perhaps, if you’re a more creative type and you’re looking for an outlet, now’s the time to try some fun new art! From culinary art to painting to drawing to crafting, there are many things you can try. Perhaps, you’d prefer to pick up knitting and create scarves or clothes for friends? Perhaps, you’ve always wanted to pick up painting but were too afraid to or didn’t have the time to try. If your artistic talents lie in the kitchen, think about trying out new recipes and playing to make something unique.

All in all, there are so many fun, creative, or relaxing activities that you can pick up at home now that you may have more time. From playing games to watching tv to reading to creating, there’s sure to be something unique to pique your fancy. So, get creative! Play! And enjoy your time at home!
