There’s an app for just about anything, so app companies are looking to recreate their top growing products with slightly different means. For instance, Glu Mobile is the brand that created Kim Kardashian: Hollywood, an app that allows users to take the role of a celebrity and have fun with their new creative options and gigs, while constantly introducing new content, such as Balmain apparel and characters like Karl Lagerfeld of Chanel. Kardashian’s app brought in $74 million within 10 months. And next up on the roster for Glu is Taylor Swift, who is apparently launching her own mobile game too.
Swift hopes to rise where others have failed, since Glu has also released apps for Katy Perry (Katy Perry Pop), Britney Spears, English action actor Jason Statham, and Kylie and Kendall Jenner. Perry’s app was released in December, and didn’t hold up well against Kardashian’s. The company also has Nicki Minaj signed on, so maybe it is hoping to find one new celebrity-app idea that can create as much revenue as their first big haul. Even though the company has brought in some great industry talents, the road to success isn’t as smooth as it might seem. You’d think each celebrity would have their own cult following creating popularity for each platform, but this doesn’t seem to have been the case.
But if anyone can attract a lot of attention, it’s going to be Taylor Swift. So far, there hasn’t been much announced, although Glu disclosed that the partnership with Swift will be a “multi-year” ordeal and will begin late in 2016. Maybe the company will try and recreate a similar platform as the Kardashian app in hopes of attracting those who would love a T-Swift app but are too used to the interface of the other.
The singing sensation has played a lot of roles in everyday media and the music industry, so there are a great many directions this app could go in terms of storyline, but if it follows anything about Swift’s life, maybe there will be a bit of competition to find out who can get the most money out of a lawsuit, or who can make the best chart-topping hit about their love life.
All joking aside, I know I’m not alone with my love for Taylor Swift. As someone who doesn’t generally become swept up in large app trends, this one might just make it onto my list of things to try out in 2016. But until the end of 2016 when it is released, we’ll be waiting for news to break from Glu about any details from Taylor Swift’s app – that will inevitably determine whether or not the app will be worth downloading!

Over the past few years, we have fallen head over heels in love with the quirky, hilarious and utterly adorable Taylor Swift, that blonde seductress who managed to woo us first with her love songs, telling us an alternate and modern day Romeo and Juliet tale. Oh how we have enjoyed her silliness, laughed at her antics, wondered at her sanity from time to time and just plain found her to be someone we can look up to. And while she certainly has the body and the voice to go along with it, it appears she also has the ability to put on an awesome fashion show, where Swift herself has come up with the designs.
It was over Hong Kong Fashion Week, the three-day runway shows held in Hong Kong, where Taylor Swift appeared of late, giving the not as well-known jaunt a rather bold face and name to show off. While she herself was not there at the show, her pieces certainly were, a newly launched clothing line for the Chinese market, portrayed with such beauty amidst the booths of garment manufacturers. It appears that Swift is massively popular in China and that is a huge market to capitalize on, which the business-savvy singer and designer certainly knows how to take advantage of. Since there have been so many counterfeits on the market, this is a great move to get the real thing out again, pleasing the loyal crowds and really capturing the essence of her fan base in the Eastern regions.
What exactly is the hype all about? Of course, not all are simple day-to-day happenings either as we notice the top Instagram photos taking on a more artistic approach, particularly seen in the year of 2015. Going back a few months, we had a rather decidedly pure image of the non-Armenian sister, Kendall Jenner, lying down on her back on the ground, her dark hair splayed out around her and arranged into pretty heart shapes, elegantly dressed and with a very peaceful expression on her face, hands clasped before her. The dress is fantastic in of itself, the 19-year-old model raking in the likes and reaching 3.2 million, the highest ever for the year, if not in the history of Instagram. Forget KimYe’s wedding with its measly 2.4 million likes… the younger Kardashian-Jenner girls have outshone their older sister, with Kylie Jenner also making the top five, coming in fourth with 2.3 million likes for her celebratory graduation photo in a cap and gown, holding a diploma from Laurel Springs High School. Whether it is a sexy model with a confused dog wearing an alligator costume that appeals to us most, an interesting swimsuit photo featuring a whole lot of orange, a homey freckle-faced image or a sweet stroll on the beach, we love Kendall and her photogenic face, particularly when we add that to a statuesque body as seen before the TFF Awards, where the lady wowed us all in a red dress, complete with a sexy cutout up her thigh to reveal the beauty of the limbs hidden beneath it. Kendall is beautiful in a classical manner, her physique sculpted to perfection and her visage that of an ethereal goddess. It is no wonder we enjoys such a strong fandom.

It is said to include dresses, sweatshirts and tops, which we are sure will be fantastic. We don’t know for sure, but perhaps being best friends with almost all the popular supermodels and designers’ muses of the moment like Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid, has had its certain impact on the inspiration for the 25-year-old singer to try her hand at fashion design launching her own fashion line that we hope will carry a bit of her awesome personal style. Whenever caught in front of camera objectives Taylor fascinates the fans with exceptionally pretty forever-21 looks wearing high-neck crop tops matched with tiny shorts showing off her crazy long legs (she knows too well what her advantages are) or fresh lightweight dresses expressing her sweet and girly character.
For those who might get overexcited we have disappointing news: Taylor Swift’s collection’s pieces will be available for sale only in Shanghai, China, letting only Swift’s Chinese fans get their hands on those cool clothes. Taylor’s fans are mostly of age under 24 and so are the most active online shoppers in China, which is a fine fact in predicting the success of this project. The line is to launch in August ahead to be concurrent with her fourth world tour 1989 in support of her fifth album studio, which is scheduled to take place in November this year.
For the exciting project, Taylor collaborates with Heritage 66 Company, which offers turn-key solutions to those of American celebrities and brands that wish to extend their business into the Chinese market. Though Taylor ventures into fashion design right in China, we are anyway happy for her. The desirable collection will be available for sale through China’s second largest e-commerce company JD.com, which also promises to become number 1 in the nearest future. The news about Taylor’s plan was announced the same day when JD.com opened its branch called “US Mall” to allow the Chinese consumers to obtain authentic goods of American retailers and brands. This might become a truly worthwhile advantage between the website and its major rival Alibaba, which lately was waved under allegations of sales of non-authentic, counterfeit goods under American names, though it denied everything.
Well, we wish Taylor no blank spaces in her try to design clothes. Though we still do not have a clue of what the pieces of her collection will look like, we have that strong belief that they are as fabulous as she always is: they anyway have Swift-approved signature, don’t they? As for us, there is nothing left to do but strongly keep our tears from coming out for not being able to get them, and look forward to Taylor Swift’s own fashion brand to be launched soon worldwide, why not!

My hair is short now and it’s a lot easier, you just brush it!” Further, speaking about why she tries to be as flawless as possible she noted, “I think New York is worth dressing up for. I just feel that when I walk into the sidewalk in New York I have to try a little harder but it’s not like an extra hour at the gym!”
