The luxury online retailer Net-a-Porter partnered with six popular designers and several celebrities to celebrate the International Women’s Day. This holiday is on March 8 and we have a strong feeling that this time it’s going to be a special one. With the many changes in the industry, including the #MeToo movement, women are finally speaking up. And the campaign that Net-a-Porter launched with Ganni, Off-White, Stella McCartney, Chloé, Bella Freud and Rosie Asoulin is another way to support this positive changes.
Each of the six designers got to create a special shirt that features their own view of female empowerment and bravery. It’s a limited-edition capsule exclusive to Net-a-Porter. Although celebrities are already rocking these tees, the good thing is that you can also get them because they are available for sale. All of the profits will be donated to an organization that has been taking care of women survivors from war since 1993. The Women for Women non-profit has helped half a million females from many countries around the world.
Chloé’s empowering T-shirt was designed by their creative director Natacha Ramsay-Levi. She introduced a minimalist design, white tee with a statement small pocket. The pocket is embroidered with golden female silhouettes. Bella Freud decided to decorate her white tee with a striking neon saying that claims “Love for You”. The designer’s initial idea is to spread love and support through fashion. Stella McCartney’s T-shirt features a “Thanks Girls” slogan.
“Recognizing both the universality and individuality of women was behind much of what I wanted to say with my first collection at Chloé. This is what drew me to using a Cycladic totem of femininity, a symbol dating back more than four millenniums yet still timeless, as a pendant necklace. I wanted to translate this message for International Women’s Day, repeating this symbol in gold thread on the pocket with a matching metallic ring piercing through the sleeve. Together these details represent the life-giving force within all women.”- said Natacha Ramsay-Levi.
For the occasion, the online retailer also collaborated with several celebrities who strongly support and raise female empowerment. Nicole Kidman, Taraji P. Henson, Dakota Fanning, Viola Davis, Karen Elson, Natalia Vodianova, Zoe Saldana took it to Instagram and expressed their support for the campaign.
Fashion has been used for many different causes so far, but celebrating and empowering women might be the most significant one. After flaunting black dresses at the Golden Globes and BAFTA Awards, celebs are now once again involving fashion in their fight for equality.
The best fashion moments happen during big events. All of the popular Hollywood stars packed their bags, left Venice and turned to Toronto. The International Toronto Film Festival started on September 7 and lasted until Sunday. During this time many A-listers took over this big Canadian town and transformed it into their fashion scene. These big events gather the most popular stars in the movie industry, that are always ready to flaunt perfect looks.
In spite of their busy schedule and the many events, they have to attend, the celebrities find the time to get ready and look amazing every time they make an appearance. All of them bring fresh, new glamorous moments that are worth taking a look at.
Nicole Kidman was a part of the celebrity crowd at the TIFF. The actress attended the Festival to present even two of her latest movies- “The Killing of a Sacred Deer” and “The Upside”. This is probably the highlight year of her career, and the 50-year-old actress looks better than ever. For the HFPA & InStyle Annual Celebration event, Nicole chose an astonishing dress by Valentino. The long-sleeved dress featured a bold pattern and is marked as one of the best fashion moments during TIFF.
Another jaw-dropping look is the one by Emma Stone for the premiere of her new movie “Battle of the Sexes”. Stone proved that a simple white dress is enough to make a fashion statement. The actress stunned in a midi pencil white dress by Tom Ford with gold-chain straps. Emma finished off the look with white stilettos and a chic golden clutch.
Katherine Waterston served a stunning appearance in a tulle dress from the Dior Resort 2018 collection. Katherine went with a simple black tulle dress, decorated with multicolored sequins. She added a pair of black Dior pumps and left everyone in awe at the premiere of “The Current War”.
The 69th Emmy Awards took place last night in Los Angeles. Television’s biggest event brought many surprises and many mesmerizing red carpet looks.
The legendary Jane Fonda set the red carpet on fire with her stunning fuchsia dress by Brandon Maxwell. The dress featured a back opening, so the actress added an emerald crystal necklace that hung down her back. Jane also flaunted an unexpected hairstyle- a super-high ponytail and full bangs. She finished off the look with a pair of silver stilettos and a silver clutch. Fonda this year turns 80 and still looks more fabulous than most 40-year-olds.
Sarah Paulson is known for her bold looks at red carpet events. This year her dress came straight off the runway from New York Fashion Week. Paulson chose a show-stopping silver dress from Carolina Herrera’s Spring 2018 collection. The dress is embellished with silver sequins and features several cutouts and fun sleeves.
Men didn’t miss the chance to make fashion statements. Among the standout looks was the one of Caleb McLaughlin. The young “Stranger Things” actor is slowly becoming a fashion icon. Last night he looked dapper in a purple Gucci blazer and black trousers. RuPaul, on the other hand, opted for a daring outfit. He chose a fun black and white check suit.
Updates from the world of fashion again! The fourth season of the collaboration of Nicole Kidman and Jimmy Choo is officially marked, as we see the gorgeous celeb on the first Jimmy Choo pre-fall 2014 campaign image. Photographed by Willy Vanderperre, the first campaign image leaked introduces the following fantastic array of suggestions by Jimmy Choo.
Talking about this collaboration and the new campaign, Nicole noted; “I really enjoyed working with Willy, he gave me such great direction, it was like being on a film set. It was fun to embrace a more rebellious spirit for Jimmy Choo; we listened to a lot of great rock music to get in the mood for the shoot”.
So first of all, this campaign represented an important inclination of Jimmy Choo this time, focusing on the minimalistic vibes and their combinations with timeless pieces and designs like reptile skin. Namely, the former comes as the basic background for the garments, whereas the second stands for the accessories. The sporty inclination in terms of the shoes is also noteworthy, especially if we pay attention to the perfect way of combining these styles and motives with each other.
Also, we should talk about the other representations of animal prints being the leopard tops for stiletto heels, followed with leather tight fitting pants and some uber-subtle and sweet chiffon made transparency plays. The other forms of shoes include army-inspired booties, and some heels with crisscrossed straps. The curious ways of designing ankle strap variants are also noteworthy here. The mystery of the woman’s nature is not missing from the images either, specifically well put in the symbolic representations of the video of the campaign.
So Jimmy Choo is again here, offering the uber-efficient and productive results of its successive collaboration with Nicole Kidman. Just because of the fact that this is a moment when two and even more talents meet, the outcomes just couldn’t be anything different from total success.

The interesting cuts and the ankle strap of golden shade were among the biggest hits. In case of the handbag, the yellow shade appearing for some details was very interesting to observe.
For the next look, the Aussie beauty sported a pair of breathtaking orange heels with an all-reptile handbag, and this was followed with the final stunner being the yellow with black clutch and the grey sandals with knee high straps of spectacular design. The success of fashion retailers and famous fashion houses is closely connected with the model, who is representing their products. The more famous and talented he or she is, the greater fame is brought to the brand and consequently, the more fans the brand gains. This is an undeniable truth, and it becomes clear every time a brand choses an ambassador. Now, it’s famous designer shoe brand Jimmy Choo sparking excitement by announcing the name of their new face: Nicole Kidman. The gorgeous 45-year-old Hollywood actress will star in the Jimmy Choo fall/winter 2013-2014 campaign, set to be released in August, 2013. Mikael Jansson was responsible for the photos.
This isn’t Nicole’s first fashion gig with a famous name. She has also been the face of Chanel No. 5 fragrance and Omega Watches. Talking about her Jimmy Choo collaboration, she said: “I’ve always loved fashion and often use it as a way to get into character. There is a lot of complexity, mystery and femininity to the Jimmy Choo woman.”
In her turn, Sandra Choi, the brand’s creative director stated: “I’m such a great admirer and feel enormously honoured to be working with Nicole Kidman. Nicole is one of the finest actresses in the world, who I knew could convey the empowered glamour of the brand. But she is also so nuanced and refined; she brings an attitude of defiance, strength, sensuality and elegance.”
This isn’t the only good news from Jimmy Choo for the upcoming season! Since, Sandra Choi was appointed the brand’s creative director just this year, she decided it’s time to bring some innovation to the Jimmy Choo style. She explains this the following way: “It’s time to give this place a shake. Jimmy Choo is that sexy, strappy, stiletto thing – but it can be something else, too. [The new Choo woman] doesn’t need to get her hair done, and she has a sense of attitude which is, ‘You know what? This is me.’”
This means that the upcoming Jimmy Choo fall/winter 2013-2014 collection will feature every style for every taste and occasion. Just wait a little to see this!

On screen couple Nicole Kidman and Clive Owen land on the cover of the W Magazine May 2012 Issue, looking extremely classy and refined in the photoshoot for the magazine. The ‘Hemingway and Gellhorn’ co-stars sit down on a chat with the magazine, talking about their early debuts as actors, as well as the HBO movie ‘Hemingway and Gellhorn’, which is airing already next month. Let’s take a look at the snippets from the interview.
Clive was still 13, when he played his first role, the Artful Dodger in Oliver. “It was the musical version. I didn’t sing that well, but I gave it a go. I was just given the part, thrown into it, and I came out and said, “I have to do this. I’ve got to be an actor.” I was unwavering from that moment on,” said the actor.
On the other hand, Nicole has always been inspired by movies. As she tells the magazine, “The Wizard of Oz. The Wicked Witch of the West had the biggest impact on me. When the striped stockings disappeared under the house, I wanted to become an actor.” Still, she wasn’t interested in Dorothy: “I was always interested in the character roles. I thought the witch was much more fascinating than Dorothy.”
She also confesses that her mother has much influenced on her throughout her career: “She always believed in me, but she’s tough on me too. She’s lived a life where she made a lot of compromises. She would have loved to be a doctor, but she didn’t come from the generation of women where she could go and be a doctor. She became a nurse instead. Not that there’s anything wrong with being a nurse, but she wanted to be a doctor. Until I won the Academy Award [for The Hours], I was kind of pursuing things to please her. I’ve really tried to sever that.”
Talking about the newest movie she is starring in, Nicole said that it was her character’s ambition: “I knew nothing about Martha [Gellhorn], but I’ve always been drawn to unique women who are willing to take on the world. The exciting thing about this film is that you see her discovering her nature. At the beginning, she’s a lot of talk. She knows that she’s either got to get her hands dirty and become what she pretends to be or she’s a fraud. In the end, Gellhorn out-Hemingways Hemingway.”
Talking about the hot scenes of the new movie, Clive states that it’s much easier to play in sex scenes than in the dying ones: “It’s much harder to do a death scene. You’ve got to do it convincingly, and it’s a huge thing to die [laughs]. Sex scenes are only hard if there’s no narrative conveyed through the sex scene. In the Hemingway film, the sex scenes have a story going through them. It’s part of who these people are and what they are.”
On her views about nudity, Nicole reveals: “I don’t mind being naked. Maybe as I get older, and now after having had a baby, it might be different, but I enjoy not letting my issues get in the way of a performance. Once I start putting all my little insecurities in my mind, I’m not actually acting. Then it’s about me—and it should never be about me. It should be about the character.”
The beautiful actress also talked about her husband’s throat surgery and how it affected their relationship: “Three weeks of no sound—no laughing, no coughing, no sneezing, nothing. He could write things down, and he would scribble away. You can still fight when someone can’t talk. When he disagreed with me, he would write, “This is unacceptable.[Laughs.] All of those things make you closer. It was sort of profound: to go without his voice, and then to finally hear his voice. What if he sounded different? I was there for his first words, and then we cried. How many people experience their husband’s first words? If that doesn’t bring you closer, you’re not breathing.”
