The Elegant Half-Updo
It doesn’t matter if you are the bride, a bridesmaid, or just a guest, this beautiful hairstyle will instantly bring you into the spotlight.
We saw all of the lovely gowns and the different fall 2017 bridal fashion trends that popped up for the latest bridal fashion week, but in so many instances, the fall 2017 bridal hairstyles and makeup trends had us hearing wedding bells just as vividly. With women having so many different types of personal styles, there is always such a large number of unique hair and makeup styles to be presented.
In order to keep things on track, here is a list of some of the best fall 2017 bridal beauty trends that you’ll want to keep in mind if you’re planning your wedding for the coming year.
1. Flower Crowns for the Bride
This is a boho-chic fashion staple, so calling it a trend might not be giving it enough credit; however, it did show up as a recurring theme for fall 2017 bridal hairstyles. The best part about using flora in this manner is that you can match it to your bouquet, or just ditch that altogether and keep your hands free during the ceremony.
For this season, flower crowns can also entail weaving flowers directly into your hair, as with half-up braids, or any other hairstyle with tucks and folds. If you’re wanting to add in some flowers to your hair but don’t want an actual flower crown, then another option is to add them directly into your hairstyle.
2. A Touch of White
It’s an age-old makeup secret that applying a bit of white eyeshadow to the inner corners of your eyes will make you appear more awake; it has also shown up as a great fall 2017 bridal makeup trend. It keeps you appearing more youthful and alert, and will be a beautiful addition to a fall or winter wedding look once the chill hangs over the air.
Being a bride can be exhausting ” trying to keep everything in order is no easy feat, especially if you’re planning your own wedding ” and you’re already wearing white anyway, so by adding a little touch of white to your eyes, you’ll ensure that your long hours of work won’t be showing.
3. Pink Lips and Lids
This may not sound like one of the better fall 2017 bridal makeup trends, but the result is truly beautiful. Using a near-matching light pink color on your eyelids and lips will give you a glowing, youthful look for your wedding. It also adds in a bit of fairy tale charm; it’s an easy trend to pull off, and will add an unexpected element to your bridal look, especially if you’re going for that ultimate dream fairy tale wedding!
4. Geometric Cat Eyes
Bring classic glamor to your modern bridal look by swapping out your go-to eyeliner style for a thin cat eye swipe. This brings a fresh new twist to the timeless cat eye style, and will give your face just enough of depth to highlight your eyes ” they’re probably going to be sparkling as you walk down the aisle anyway, so this eye-outlining style will bring everything together for you.
5. Vintage Hair Jewelry
You’ll need “something old’ and “something borrowed’ to finish off your bridal look if you’re following the traditional guidelines, and with this lovely fall 2017 bridal beauty trend it’ll be easier to kill two birds with one stone. This trend especially works with half-up hairstyles and braids, since you can weave the accessories through the folds of the hair. You can even pair this trend with the flower crowns, which will spruce about the flower look with things like pearls or other lovely pieces you may have.
6. Glowing Rose Gold Eyeshadow
Rose gold is one of those metallic shades that always look romantic. Metallics in general can appear edgy, but this rosy shade is just darling for a bride. It’s a beauty trend that will look great paired with any kind of dress style; since it is a rather muted, nude tone for a metallic eyeshadow, it will bolster your face’s natural youth and beauty and leave your skin glowing.
7. Twisted Half-Up Braids
This is another fall 2017 bridal hairstyle that has also been popular as an everyday look. You’ll find pictures of this type of hairstyle all over Instagram, so it’s an easygoing style for your wedding that you’ll just fall in love with. This hairstyle pairs well with other fall 2017 bridal accessory trends, like the flower crowns and vintage jewelry, since in many cases you’ll be able to weave the pieces directly into the lovely twists of this style.
8. Classic-Modern Glamour
One of the most well-known classic glamour makeup styles is a bold red lip. So, as it should be, it’s a striking detail walking down the aisle as well. Often the most glamorous day of a woman’s life, there’s no wonder designers are finding ways to take classic glamour and give them modern twists ” as with this fall 2017 bridal beauty trend. By swapping out the standard red for a semi-matte red-orange, you’re pulling that trend to the modern age.
9. Let Your Hair Down
On many bridal runways for the coming season, long flowing hair was a dramatic and beautiful style to note, making it one of the top fall 2017 bridal hairstyles. Don’t be afraid to let your hair down for your wedding ” updos may be the traditional bridal go-to, but your hair (in all of its glory) deserves some time in the limelight too.
It’s a hairstyle trend that can be bohemian, glamorous, or just about anything else; it will go with whatever style your dress and accessories are promoting, so all you need to do is some lovely curling or straightening to keep your hair in check, and you’ll be all set.
10. Ditch the Makeup
Sure, there are so many great fall 2017 bridal makeup trends, as seen on this list, but another trend that popped up is the idea of ditching the cosmetics altogether and going natural for your big day. This is generally a great trend for spring, but it has shown up for fall as well, making it such a statement trend, in its own way.
Using makeup in your wedding is a great way to make a statement or to bring attention to your best features, but wearing no makeup will show off your natural beauty ” it’s a good bet your spouse-to-be will be absolutely enamored as you walk down the aisle like this.
If you’re too scared to forego the makeup completely, you might consider some light foundation or barely-there nudes to give you a bit of color. Make sure your skin is healthy and exfoliated for when your big day comes around, and that will give you the perfect base to pull of the natural or nude makeup style.

For a more natural look the makeup artists opted for raspberry lips and eye makeup seemed somewhat faded, while sleek chignons with parted hair in the front were emanating some bride-befitting modesty and restraint.

Minimalistic natural makeup was making its way into Lela Rose as well but in a completely new style. Tiny sleek eye wings were in full swing on the runway.
#7: Flower Crown at Naeem Khan
Frida Kahlo hairstyle served as a real inspiration for Naeem Khan for the fall to come. The concept of looking at the brides from head donning massive flower crowns combined with veil, childish braided pigtails and roomy tribal earrings completely distracted the attention from the bridal dresses. So, with such rich and extravagant decorations you will need a bridal gown devoid of any embellishments especially if you also adopt Naeem Khan’s Geisha-inspired raspberry lips.

The wedding season is upon us and we are scrambling over the Internet to find just the right looks to be wearing as we celebrate a night partying with our family and friends as their esteemed guests. While the dresses we wear are undoubtfully one of the most important aspects of our fashion sense, the hair makes or breaks the look. After all, perfectly made up hair can have any dress look wedding-worthy. This is one of the main reasons we have put together this list of incredibly lovely wedding guest hairstyles for summer, in order to help the ladies struggling with their themed looks for some of the most memorable days in the year.
When we look to awesome hairstyles, the best inspirations often come from lovely celebrities. Some are more toned down of course, in order to better capture the elegance of their spirit, while others are a whole lot more on the extravagant side to really show off the fun nature hidden in their hearts. No matter the hairstyle the ladies have chosen, know that it would do to try at least one during the special occasions coming up over the next few months.
1. The Classic Bun
If you want to go classic, look both sophisticated and thoroughly elegant, you might want to go with the simple classic bun. It certainly suited the unfailingly elegant Hilary Rhoda as she wore it with a lovely side part at the CFDA Fashion Awards. There is an alluring edge to an older woman wearing her hair thus, showing her maturity as well as her unfailing beauty to the world. It is a timeless elegance she exudes and Rhoda shows it off beautifully.
2. The Long Braid
If you prefer a younger look, one that speaks classical, fairy tale and sweetly touching all at once, while still enjoying a bohemian edge that is so in style this year, you might want to opt for the long braided hairstyle that Isabeli Fontana rocked at the Elle Style Awards. Think charming and youthful all in one, while you don’t even have to worry about your hair sticking to the nape of your neck. It is style and comfort brought together in one ‘do. Of course, adding purple lipstick doesn’t hurt your edgy look either.
3. The Right Cut
If you prefer simple, sweet and something that shows off your more down-to-earth attitude towards life, you can go along with the Halle Berry look and get yourself a medium length cut, left wavy and finished off with lovely wispy bangs. The messy look is a sexy one and looked great when worn to the Women Cancer Research celebration. Playing with highlights and lowlights will give you an even better look for a simpler wedding over the summer if you take on this more youthful to middle-aged style.
4. Extending the Cut
If the medium wavy cut appears to be too short and too old for you, you can take inspiration from the pretty little Kylie Jenner, with her positively fabulous face-framing waves that were worn to the launch of the Kendall + Kylie fashion line. A center part, short layers and long hair in general with generous volume was just what the doctor ordered, or at least the stylist, and is one style that you can never go wrong with at your best friend’s unforgettably awesome wedding.
5. Going Retro
Perfect sculpture and vintage styles go very well together when you consider hair, hair and more hair to be dressed up beautifully for that special occasion. Natasha Poly certainly pulled the look off stupendously well as she sashayed into the Sea of Trees premiere in Cannes. She looked beautiful as always, but it was the healthy look of those tresses falling from a side part, over one shoulder and down her back that got us thinking that the red lipstick suits this woman all too well.
6. The Half and Half
If you want to look like you’re done up but not by too much, look charming, but still very stylish, take the Diane Kruger route and go for the ultra-feminine feel of the half up and half down hair styling method, the way it was worn by the actress at the Sea of Trees premiere in Cannes. The slightly messy, positively beautiful design is one that will surely have you feeling sweetly delicious, a fact that will not go unnoticed by the opposite sex, as well as those of the same. After all, who doesn’t want to dance with the belle of the ball?
7. The Ponytail
Unfailingly elegant, the sleek and straight ponytail and certainly a style you can choose to go for, especially if you decide to dress it up with zigzag side swept hair in a copper coloring, baring the beauty of the face to all. We do not suggest going for the dark lipstick Bryce Dallas Howard decided to wear to the Jurassic World premiere, since it keeps things way too bold on the features, especially if you have lovely large eyes like hers. The vampy look aside, the sleek ponytail is so very much in at the moment, particularly for the summer months.
8. The Boho Chic
Keeping with the half and half theme, the boho chic look is one that will certainly fly well, especially at a destination or outdoor wedding. The braids keep half the hair up, while the shorter cut allows for the falling tendrils to look youthful, charming and very much the Southern Belle. Sienna Miller rocked this look beautifully at the Cannes closing ceremony and we cannot imagine a lovely short hair ‘do for a wedding, particularly one under the blazing sun, than this one.
9. The Hair Knot
If you are thinking edgy, sexy, and thoroughly modern, go for the Nina Agdal hair knot that she wore to the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala. The messy top knot looked pretty good actually and the flying tendrils here and there gave her a slightly more feminine appeal. Even the hair pulled back was a bit more on the textured side, leaving the ladies coveting the raw appeal of the look.
10. The Side Sweep
Old Hollywood glamour galore! One look we cannot omit from this list is this gorgeous side sweep, with the perfect waves and the absolute loveliness of the ladies who decide to wear it out. Izabel Goulart certainly rocked the look as she walked into the amFAR Cinema Against AIDS Gala with this gorgeous vintage look.

4. Bohemian Braids and Knots At Houghton
If you want to take your boho-chic bridal look to a whole new level, add some random hair knots and tiny braids to your ‘do. In contrast to this effortless hairstyle, at Houghton the models wore quite an edgy makeup with lots of white face powder added to the forehead and the bridge of the nose, while the rest of the face was kept natural and glowing with subtle touches of bronze used to contour the face.
5. Sleek Side Bun At Pamella Roland

6. Bejeweled Long Braids At Reem Acra
Braided hairstyles always lead to utterly romantic and charming looks and when you improvise a little adding lovely embellishment to your hair, the outcome is going to be even more fabulous. At Reem Acra hairstylist Joseph DiMaggio decorated the super long braids of the models reaching the waist with chic jewelry, stars and pearls, while the crown was kept simple with a classic center parting. The makeup was soft and beautiful with the pink lip-gloss being the focus of the overall look.
7. Flower-Adorned French Twist At Oscar de la Renta
The “brides’ at Oscar de la Renta were oh-so-romantic and ethereal wearing those gorgeous dresses finished off with the classic French twists accessorized with simple bows or big floral details. The makeup was about creating a healthy and radiant complexion with flushed cheeks and a natural eye makeup with the focus placed on the perfectly shaped eyebrows. This is yet another classic bridal beauty look opting for which you can never makeup a mistake!
8. Undone Updo With Floral Adornments At Angel Sanchez
The hair at Angel Sanchez was so pretty featuring an undone updo spiced up with lots of floral details added in a diagonal manner. This was beautifully combined with a shimmering eye gloss that brightened up the look, as well as soft pink blush accentuating the cheekbones and a transparent lip-gloss used to create the effect of the juicy and kissable pout.
9. Voluminous Undone Updo At Theia
When you tease up your natural hair gently and gather it high into a casual undone updo with lots of volume added to the crown, you get a 1900s inspired bridal updo, one that got us charmed at Theia. The slightly disco-style glistering makeup came to be the focus of the look featuring a fuchsia eyeshadow added to the lids, which instantly popped out on the background of the nude face.
10. Butterfly Bun At Ines Di Santo
Using hair accessories to elevate your bridal hairstyles is something very common and if you are looking for unique details other than flowers and headbands, think tiny butterflies that can add a fairy-tale vibe to a classic sleek bun. The models at Ines Di Santo wore lovely white butterfly clips instead of a veil, adding drama and a romantic allure to their divine looks. The makeup was equally astounding composed of sharp winged eyeliner, a soft pink lip-gloss and a rosy blush added to the cheeks.

The bells are ringing and your wedding day has arrived. You have always dreamed of walking down the aisle in style, inspiring awe in the congregation. You are the queen that day, but more so, you are the goddess worshiped by the groom. You must, therefore, look the part. A dress alone can do wonders to bring one to his knees, but the complete look is what will enthral all for the times to come. Your hair, your accessories, they all deserve mention as they will not only make you look the part, but you must feel as if the Heavens belong to you. As every woman strives to appear the goddess on her wedding day, we have some rather divine wedding hairstyles for you!
Emmy Rossum was looking as regal as ever, reminding us of the Mother of the Gods with her Grace Kelly inspired braided chignon that looked exquisite under a pearl and precious stone tiara with earrings to match. We are awestruck by the sleek elegance of the style, complementing her lady-like demeanour. There’s a certain air of nobility when the tiara is added to a sleek hairdo instead of a puffy prom-queen style, which wouldn’t suit a woman as well as it suits a younger girl. The braided chignon adds character and depth, while the tiara’s line leading into the chignon is quite pleasant to look at.
If the dress is ornate and rather dramatically enhanced, a sleek hairdo consisting of pulling the hair back tight from the crown and then coiling into a flawless braided bun is certainly a style we would go for and one that Amanda Seyfried rocks perfectly. Adding a few extensions to a sleek ponytail that you start with, the foundation must be laid right if the look is to be as polished as it is here.
Just a Fairy Tale
Ashley Madekwe reminds us of Cinderella getting married after Prince Charming, who has finally found the owner of that infamous glass shoe. With a glittery delicate broach adorning her hair that’s been pulled into a loose but textured top knot, the fairy tale look is hard to resist. She reminds us of shimmering fairies in the night sky, while playful young maidens tittle and play in the fields. We can almost hear “Once upon a time‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√묨‚àÇ’ in the background!
A goddess looks spectacular, no matter the time of day and the slightly tousled low chignon Jennifer Lawrence has crafted is simply too lovely for words. Highlights in the hair add to the allure of the tousled style while glittering longer earrings give the ‘do a bit more glam. Simple is often the best route to take and not every goddess must be extravagant in her fashion sense. We like to think of this one as more of having a fun romantic, romantic appeal.
You may look beautiful in white but when on the beach your hair will be tousled and loosened by the wind. Normally, women opt for sultry waves, but Julianne Hough has something better up her sleeve. Still looking au-natural, an intentionally unkempt slightly casual style, which includes a bright that serves like a crown and is twisted in the back. Those with shoulder-length hair would definitely benefit from the sea goddess look this inspires!
Braids of all types can be the perfect hairstyle to complete the overall look for the goddess in all of us. It’s fresh, it’s easy and it can be played with to create such sensational designs. It’s edgy more so that sleek lady-like but it’s got a character that defines the one who sports the look. It is pretty enough to capture attention but not so much so that it leaves the gown pale in comparison. On the contrary, it allows one’s eyes to feast on the gown’s decadent beauty. A side-parted style is best, especially on those with darker hair colors. Braiding from both sides, you can have them meet and continue down one shoulder to give it a more demure allure.
Glitzy Short Bob
Just because you are a goddess doesn’t mean you cannot keep your hair short and stylish! On the contrary, side-swept straight bangs, a shaggy pixie-cut and a diamond encrusted bold headband are more than enough to make a statement and show off how regal you truly are. After all, a “Roman Holiday’ would do us all a world of good and it doesn’t take away from the position we hold.
We love the seas and we most certainly love the style created by hair guru Giannandrea for Naomi Watts. It’s not strict in structure nor are tendrils allowed to frame the face. In a looser, softer fashion, the hair is pulled away from the face and styled to match a woman’s sensibility, according to the coiffeur. The hair at the crown is given volume while the rest is pulled into the lovely French twist that has us ooh-ing and aah-ing over the look.
The Queen Regent
Nicole Kidman’s sultry updo rather reminds us of the style the queen regent sports on CW’s “Reign’ television program following the early life of Mary, Queen of Scotland. The elaborate bun has been twisted, pinned in a rather askew manner, accented with a loose braid and emphasized with a gold-gilded pin that makes the look so very interesting from any angle you look at it. It’s textured and a little tousled so it doesn’t look perfectly coiffed but nonetheless is perfectly ladylike.
Queen of the Waves
Of course, every list must include those seductive waves that only look all that much better when accented with both highlights and lowlights. The trick to make it perfect is to start about a few inches down from the root and use a one-and-a-half inch curling iron without pinning it up for best results. Lots of soft hairspray and a quick flip and tousle for added volume should do the trick quite nicely!

Weddings are lovely events, where the bride appears so serene and so much like a lovely princess that we forget all the hard work that goes into planning every single last detail to make that day the magical moment it should be. Most of all, as we admire the perfection of the dress and how it is a breathtaking fit for the bride, or perhaps we wonder what on earth possessed her to stick to such an out-dated or simply unattractive style, we forget the hundreds of hours pored over magazines, spent in stores trying on dress after dress, trying to find that perfect combination that speaks elegance, beauty and is quite simply a reflection of the bride’s personality.
From the classic ladylike wedding to the bohemian nuptial, we saw it all at Bridal Fashion Week fall 2015. And then we took a few of our favourite fall 2015 bridal beauty looks inspired from the runway shows and wish to share them with you!
The Pearl Headband
Nothing says elegance quite the way pearls do and at Carolina Herrera the models walked down the runway in a simple elegance that cannot be denied as a bride. Her hair in a tight bun, with a playful cat-eye and peach lips, her wedding veil fell from a beautiful pearl headband that accentuated her simple beauty.
The Antique Headband
There was a bit of a focus on headbands, without a doubt, and this particular look was quite sensational. For the more vintage look, the Monique Lhuillier bride was adorned with an antique-inspired headband and a knotted chignon added to the royal elegance, all complemented with a subtle powder pink lip.
Flowers in the Hair
Blooming flowers mark the advent of the spring season, where life begins anew and a new chapter is opened in the book of life. Flowers adorning a bride’s hair, whether real or fake, are a symbol of new beginnings and fresh starts as well, adding a form of ethereal innocence to the image of the woman walking down the aisle. The catwalk supplied the same illusion as Marchesa’s models appeared with the lovely hair, a touch of rosy lips and powdery pink cheeks to finish.
Classic Chignon and Red Lips
We doubt this look could ever go out of style. The elegance is too flawless to ever truly be discarded as outdated. The low chignon, so tastefully designed, along with a deep crimson lipstick and sharp black eyeliner provides the perfect contrast against pale skin, producing the vision of a grand lady from centuries past. You can never go wrong with that particular style, which triumphed at Pnina Tornai for Kleinfeld.
A Touch of Grunge
Perhaps it’s the Kelly Clarkson reminder that really had this look stand out, but it is quite impossible to imagine a more angelic demeanour than soft waves, particularly when blonde, strong dark eyeliner framing lighter coloured eyes, and lightly stained glossy lips. Add a bit of dewiness to the cheeks that have been slightly rouged by the sun and voila! You have a look that Hollywood cannot get enough of and the Heavens probably pine over. Then again, that might just be the movie industry’s illusion since the style is oh, so common in movie weddings.
You have to admit that there is a special elegance afforded to a braid and Disney has most definitely begun a braid trend when it comes to fishtails. Frozen’s Elsa has become an inspiration to the young and old, and fashion designers are no less affected by the latest arts mastery. After all, even Alfred Angelo has followed the crowd of adoring fans and designed a wedding dress inspired by the Disney character. The look simply cannot be complete without a fishtail braid and high teased hair.
Bridal Fashion Week fall 2015 might be over, but it has left so many stunning beauty looks for our inspiration that looking astounding on that big day becomes pretty easier!
