Tom Ford Launches on Net-a-Porter
In the era of the Internet, when fashion bloggers make money on Instagram and through their personal style blogs, when you learn the news reading your favorite online magazines instead of buying newspapers and journals and when you like shopping online comfortably sitting at home instead of standing in long queues to try on your favorite piece or to pay for it, everything possible is getting online with the luxury fashion being no exception. After Chanel launching its limited edition luxury jewelry designs on Net-a-Porter for the first time ever, it’s Tom Ford now teaming up with the famous e-commerce site to let the brand’s followers finally purchase their favorite ready-to-wear designs from the men’s and women’s collections online! Luxury Tom Ford goodies are now available for purchase in the brand’s 110 boutiques and famous department stores internationally, while the online website of the brand ships the products only to the USA. So finally, already in July Tom Ford fashions will be available on Net-a-Porter and later in September on Mr Porter!
So Net-a-Porter will actually be the first ever online retailer to sell Tom Ford pieces, talking about which the vice president of the company, Sarah Rutson has stated: “Net-a-porter is extremely strong in selling designer merchandise online and obviously Tom Ford ready-to-wear online, bags and shoes is a massive draw for our customer. We’ve got a proven track record of selling at this level, especially brands that either have very limited e-commerce themselves or no e-commerce.”
Bateman also talked about the luxury fashion house’s latest rtw shows, saying: “There’s been a broadening of the collection that Tom Ford is offering. There’s been a surprising element of sportswear in those collections. That evolution is something that again makes the timing right to work with a company like Mr Porter. Not only will we be stocking the signature three-piece business suit and tuxedo program, but we’ll also be stocking really the strong denim program, too.”
While Net-a-Porter will be selling Tom Ford’s fall rtw womenswear collection from evening gowns and daytime dresses to outerwear, footwear, accessories, makeup and beauty products, including the famous Tom Ford fragrances, Mr Porter will offer the brand’s formalwear, casualwear, but also shoes and accessories.
