Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – Paris Fashion Week
Femininity and elegance are praised again at Paris Fashion Week, and this time it’s the cute Miu Miu spring/summer 2015 collection showing its version of classiness and charm embellished with an enchanting retro vibe. Miuccia Prada’s new Miu Miu line clearly puts it that both retro styles and femininity are super trendy for the coming bright season, bringing a cavalcade of modern, trendy and one-of-a-kind clothing pieces for the working class ladies (and not only), who want to look special at the office. Featuring simple lines, a perfect tailoring and an admirable color palette fusing delicate neutrals with pops of brights, the new Miu Miu collection targets all those cosmopolitan women, who appreciate elegance and sophistication in style, and who love rocking such trends in the most creative ways possible.
The focus on modest and elegant shapes is obvious in the Miu Miu spring/summer 2015 collection, and it’s thanks to the It piece – the pencil skirt, that we notice this instantly. Put in a myriad of color shades and made of various fabrics, the classic high-waisted pencil skirt becomes the mainstream garment in the collection. To jazz things up, Prada had matched them with lovely tweed belts and uber-flirty ruffled cropped shirts and tops, which often come topped with elegant and sharp coats in various lengths.
Trying to create a lovely balance between the elegant and the casual, the modest and the playful, the retro and the modern, the designer also showed a variety styles of ultra-trendy cropped tops, which were lavishly ruffled and featured delicate fabrics for extra sophistication. Especially interesting were the interpretations of the classic collared shirts, which were unexpectedly cropped, revealing the midriff of the models, while still looking quite reserved. Some of the crop tops were adorned with deep V-necks, while others stood out thanks to the iconic tweed fabric used.
The third key item in the Miu Miu spring/summer 2015 collection was the coat, which was mixing different colors, ranging from delicate pastels to pops of reds, as well as was showing a curious play with materials and patterns. Especially noteworthy was the bright green tweed coat cut at the knee level and embellished with suede patches. There were shorter styles too, and bolder options made of colorful leather.
While these three items were the protagonists of the show, we also saw some uber-feminine high-waisted knee-length full skirts, ruffled tops, retro-style culottes and one or two knitted tops. Of spring’s hottest trends, the collection showed the popular checkered fabrics, classic all-black looks and some flower power in the retro mood.
No less striking were the accessorizing options that completed the looks. Each and every outfit presented came complemented with a classy bag, more frequently in the eye-popping color of red. As for the footwear, we saw two main options, one being classic peep-toe heels with big bow details on the front part and the next option being super-towering platform sandals. Some of those heels looked especially creative thanks to the leather or suede materials used to turn them into boots, which quite resembled classic heels worn with socks. Oversized and bold cat-eye sunglasses were other lovely fashion accessories we saw.
The Miu Miu spring/summer 2015 collection is a great fashion destination both for those, who want to look classy and feminine and those, who appreciate creativity and modern style interpretations in fashion. It’s the right dose of fashion inspiration for fashion-obsessed It girls!
