Miu Miu Cruise 2017 Campaign Shot in Rome
If you’re looking for a dreamy getaway in a resort 2017 collection, then Miu Miu by far has that and then some. The Miu Miu cruise 2017 ad campaign features an entirely new cast for the label, and is all about the romanticized idea of walking through Rome at night, and on until the wee hours of the morning. As such, it was aptly named “Sunset to Sunrise.”
Current It-girl Dree Hemingway was photographed alongside new models Birgit Kos, Faretta Radic, and Sara Somogyi for the Miu Miu resort 2017 ad campaign. Cecilia Chancellor, an English It-girl from the 1980s, was also tapped for this dreamy campaign, and she absolutely owned her part in the shoot.
All of the girls, though, brought a wonderful, romantic innocence to the photoshoot. The campaign was shot by Alasdair McLellan and was styled by Katie Grand.
Walking on a classic cobbled path underneath a deep blue sky and with silhouettes of trees and lights in the background, the cast of fresh faces showed off the upcoming Miu Miu clothes that will be released soon. They brought together all of the best traits of a walk in one of the most romantic cities in the world under the stars, as well as the idea of a girls’ night out, since they are all seen rocking their looks in a group.
Specifically, the models were shot walking on one of Rome’s oldest and most treasured roads, Via Appia Antica. It was with all of these things working together that we were shown bright colors and graphic prints, and almost more notably, an assortment of killer handbags. So from head to toe, these models could be ready for so many different events, because this campaign is highlighting just how versatile Miu Miu’s resort 2017 collection is.
That was likely another key to determining at what time to film the campaign. The looks can transition well from day to night, which is a defining characteristic for many resort collections. It’s important to get a grasp of the balance between that vacation-fashion feel and actual purpose. Miu Miu has done a great job of skirting that line, and as a result the models are looking fabulous and ready for anything to come their way.
The shining satins were especially striking at this time and place, in shades of pink and gold. The same can be said about the lovely and delicate green blouse, though, so color was the true star of the evening and night out. A pale pink dress with Shakespeare-esque belled sleeves was particularly sweet yet impactful, while a black satin cami with lace trim acted as a lingerie-nightwear crossover, especially with its black patterned cover up, which resembled a robe.
You can’t be in a much better place than looking that fabulous with a group of equally stylish women to be hanging out with. Add in that you’re wearing Miu Miu and it’s taken to an entirely new level.
