Gucci Spring/Summer 2014 RTW – Milan Fashion Week
From London to Milan Fashion Week, and here we are to admire one of the most anticipated fashion lines of the entire fashion week spring 2014: the Gucci spring/summer 2014 collection! A high dose of glamour and sexuality comes out of these Gucci garments that seem to have been made to put you in the center of attention wherever you go! Apparently, for the new warm season, creative designer Frida Giannini was trying to inject sportif motives into both the daywear and the glossy eveningwear of the collection, the result of which is something more laid-back, yet equally dramatic and glam.
“More sophisticated and relaxed” seems to be the message of the new Gucci spring/summer 2014 collection, and this is evident both in the beauty choices with minimal makeup and backcombed wet hair, and in the fluid, languid silhouettes that reigned both the daywear and the glam evening apparel choices. There was lots of boldness in the designs, which as if did their best to expose as much skin as possible: sheer fabrics, black mesh, deep V-necks and the strappy bra tops revealed the models’ chest in the most delicate way that never made the looks vulgar or overexposed.
The athletic vibe of the Gucci spring/summer 2014 collection was evident in the mesh panels used for some of the dresses, as well as in the T-shirt dress or the silk track pants that came matched with sheer sweatshirts. Although sporty touches were used for designing those stunning Gucci dresses, they never lacked sophistication and femininity, especially when paired with high-heeled shoes.
Despite the fact that spring is associated with bright colors and prints, the Gucci spring/summer 2014 collection concentrates on darker shades, including lots of blacks, autumn-ready burnt orange and plum hues. The glamour of the dresses was emphasized through the use of golden touches and shining lurex that scream for attention! Most of the dresses featured intricate decorations in emerald, gold, plum, bronze and deep blue inspired by the mesmerizing work of illustrator Erté and by Art Nouveau.
No less impressive where the accessories showcased, especially the Gucci bags in bright blue, ruby or purple with long tassels hanging down. No wonder, the Gucci spring/summer 2014 collection was a success, as far as high-class glamour and sexuality go!
