Christian Siriano Spring/Summer 2014 RTW – New York Fashion Week
Looking for something cute, colorful and fashionable? Then the Christian Siriano spring/summer 2014 collection unveiled during New York Fashion Week is just for you! “My customer asked for color, so I gave it to her,” says Siriano. Delicately chosen combinations of colors and appliqués are, in fact, the most characteristic features of the new Christian Siriano collection.
The Christian Siriano spring/summer 2014 collection remained in the frames of formal style at the same time acquiring elements of casualwear thus turning into an interesting blend of various stylish motives. The designer’s summer vacation in Mexico’s Isla Mujeres obviously played an enormous role in the creation of the collection. The colorful and sunny mood of Mexico is perfectly expressed in every little bit of the entire collection.
The Christian Siriano spring/summer 2014 collection starts with combinations of softly colored blazers and short skirts, as well as floor-length dresses created in white motives, followed by brightly colored orange and yellow knee length dresses. Other significant features of the collection were the stripy vibes used in some of the works, including zigzags, vertical and horizontal stripes kept within the black-and-white color theme.
In the looks followed we can see the beautiful play of cream and white overtones, especially on a tea-length dress with wonderful embroidery and a really cute design. It’s here that we feel the slight shift towards a more soft style with the elegance of floor or knee length dresses adorned with ostrich features. Then the style swiftly passed to the glaring coral pink designs followed by fabulous lust evening dresses, eventually giving way to cute and light rusty dresses with beautiful floral appliqués.
Thus the vacation to Mexico appeared to be quite productive for Christian Siriano, serving as a strong motivating and inspirational source for a beautiful creation.
