Antonio Berardi Spring/Summer 2014 RTW – London Fashion Week
Elegance and good looks, mixed up with the various touches of diverse styles get a new interpretation with the help of the Antonio Berardi spring/summer 2014 collection, presented at London Fashion Week. “I wanted it to be more urban and move away from that tight silhouette; relax it, give it ease and bring in more separates,” said Antonio Berardi. “I wanted to use couture fabrics, but not in the context of couture. It was an idea of moving my woman forward and taking myself out of a safety zone, away from the things that I am known for.”
This collection is a real eclectic blend of all styles put within the frames of calm and relaxing color shades. The latter vary from pure white to various tones of light pink and crimson with Venetian red. The shapes, which are the best representatives of the synthesis of styles, vary from jackets to straight pants and asymmetrical dresses of varied lengths. The sleeves are created with eye-catching solutions as well, including raglan motives but made with the effect of being oversized.
Coming to the fabrics, organza and sheer are certainly worth talking about. The way the garments are put a step nearer to perfection encompasses the awesome and cute floral motives and appliqués used on them. The leopard prints mainly kept on the background of monochrome black and white are to be pointed out as well.
The third interesting effect created on the garments is the reptile holographic print with a slight shiny look. Thus, the Antonio Berardi spring/summer 2014 collection is a vivid proof of the creative potential of the designer, acting as a loud cry about the fact that he is capable of much more than many people expect of him. His aim to move his woman a step forward is absolutely and wonderfully accomplished and this can be a good start for his climb up the ladder of success.
