3.1 Phillip Lim Fall/Winter 2013-2014 RTW – New York Fashion Week
And the sweetest show of New York Fashion Week was the one delivered by 3.1 Phillip Lim. The chilled guests were treated to hot chocolate and marshmallows, as well as to the super-duper sweetie and voguish 3.1 Phillip Lim fall/winter 2013-2014 collection. Sonomama was the name of the collection, meaning “as you are” in Japanese. It reveals the source of inspiration behind this fabulous lineup, which is the moto-racing world. As a result, the fans of this style are offered an array of sassy biker vests and jackets, racer-back dresses and spectacular accessories.
As the inspiration source of the 3.1 Phillip Lim fall/winter 2013-2014 collection hints, leather is the main fabric of the line for the cold season, which comes accompanied by knitwear, mostly. Zipper details and great layering were other attributes of the 3.1 Phillip Lim fashion show 2013. The models were wearing coats with leather bibs accompanied by knitted sweaters and leather skirts, bikers with knitted pieces, oversized anoraks with biker vests and sweatshirts.
When it comes to the color palette of the collection, expect this season lots of earth tones, blacks, grays, caramels, navy blues, subtle pinks and emerald greens. The looks presented were mainly monochrome with subtle geometric patterns appearing over here or there. As for the accessories, some of the most striking options included the cross-body bags, sunglasses, peep-toe high-heeled leather boots and thigh-high ones with cut-outs.
The 3.1 Phillip Lim fall/winter 2013-2014 collection features an array of smashing outerwear pieces, roomy shorts, skinny cargos, quilted mini dresses, skirts, jeans, leggings jeggings and knitted pieces. The show closing look presented a combo of light wash jeans and a denim jacket with the “L” and “P” letters plastered all over. Apparently, a new street style obsession for the coming fall!
