MTV VMA 2014 Red Carpet Fashion
The 31st MTV Video Music Awards took place with a big dose of red carpet fashion glamour Sunday night at The Forum in Inglewood, California. While listening to a piece of good music and watching some show-stopping performances were the main things all these celebrity fans wanted to do yesterday, we were all eyes on the striking, surprising and sometimes even bizarre celebrity dresses spotted at the MTV VMAs 2014. From mind-blowing elegant gowns and princess dresses to extravagant costume solutions, wild animal printed options and dresses featuring endless plunging necklines, the MTV VMA 2014 red carpet fashion had it all to surprise, to disappoint and to inspire fashionisers from around the globe. Below, we have rounded up some of the best-dressed celebrities at the MTV VMAs 2014, as well as some outstanding looks some of them opted for!
No wonder, pop queen Beyoncé was the center of everyone’s attention, as not only was she nominated for more awards than the other stars, but she also dazzled everyone with her gorgeous personal style, wearing a Nicolas Jebran black lace gown, accessorized with Christian Louboutin heels and Lorraine Schwartz earrings. Her center-parted lush locks completed her look ideally. She then changed her look and made an appearance donning a deep red Zuhair Murad gown with lace inserts on the sides. In both the cases, she managed to made jaws drop!
Kim Kardashian decided to channel her femininity and seductiveness and to put the focus on her gorgeous curves wearing a chic Balmain mini dress with a deep plunging V-neckline, all accessorized with black heels and effortless beachy waves. Pretty impressive, Kim!
One of the most adorable and unique looks was presented by Victoria Justice, who walked the red carpet in a wonderful Alice + Olivia white crop top matched with a Lublu Kira Plastinina black fringed skirt with an asymmetric hemline and Jimmy Choo pointy-toe heels with bow details on the front. Her lemon Edie Parkerclutch clutch featuring the message “#hashtag” was definitely the zest of her look, while the Sorelli earrings and a Dionea Orcini ring matched the entire image just perfectly!
Utterly feminine and romantic was Keltie Knight, who wore a body-embracing pencil skirt with lace details and embroidery and a matching crop top. Strappy heels and effortless locks completed her look ideally!
As always, utterly breathtaking and gorgeous was Jennifer Lopez, who looked like a real diva wearing a Charbel Zoe sparkling silver dress with a super-high side slit and lots of cuts revealing skin. Matching Jimmy Choo pumps, a silver python Thalé Blanc ‘Talia Mini Fastueux’ clutch and Norman Silverman jewels finished off her goddess-worthy look!
Taylor Swift surprised everyone a lot, ditching her always-fabulous red carpet dresses and opting for a gymnast-worthy romper from Mary Katrantzou. Elie Saab shoes, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry and Ofira gold pave bands accessorized her look, while her iconic red lipstick and tousled bob were the only things that still looked so Taylor Swift!
Model Chanel Iman emphasized her flawless figure in an edgy black dress from Balmain, which she perfectly harmonized with Casadei’s black leather “Cage” sandals and chunky black earrings.
Julianne Hough was the Greek goddess of the party, wearing a silk halter gown from Emillio Pucci with a seductive open back and unexpected cutouts. Her look was both minimalistic and ethereal, being one of the best of the night!
Songstress Jessie J was the next goddess of the night in a pistachio green flowing gown from Halston featuring a deep V-neckline. Her center-parted sleek black hair was the accessory of her look!
Katy Perry’s look might slightly disappoint her fans and followers, through there may be fashionisers loving this style too. She opted for a heavy Versace denim gown with a strapless design and a side slit. A matching clutch and jewelry finished off her red carpet look.
There were also celebs, who decided to stand out wearing some trousers combos rather than dresses. Among them Gwen Stefani still managed to look utterly feminine and sophisticated wearing vibrant pink and black L.A.M.B. couture top and trousers duo, accessorized with gorgeous black pumps. Keep it up, Gwen!
Miley Cyrus presented one of the biggest trends of the night, going for a bandeau top and timeless black hue. She wore a black leather duo of Alexandre Vauthier harem pants and a bandeau bralette, finished off with metallic heeled sandals.
Kendall Jenner supported Miley’s style, also going for the color of black and the bandeau style top. She wore a black bra top with an Alon Livne mesh top and high-waisted tailored trousers, all finished off with heeled sandals and a metallic clutch.
Ariana Grande’s red carpet look was one of the biggest failures of the night. She opted for an edgy black leather mini dress from Moschino and a pair of thigh-high leather boots from Tom Ford.
While some of the looks at the MTV VMAs 2014 were not as cool as expected, you can still find drop-dead gorgeous looks that can inspire you to look amazing on some special events!
