She is a much loved reality star, who shared her life publicly in MTV’s Laguna Beach and The Hills, as well as a successful businesswoman, a talented fashion designer, an author of multiple book deals with Harper Collins, a real style icon and simply a beautiful lady. Yes, we are certainly talking about Lauren Conrad, who has put aside all her fears, flaunting her beautiful figure in some stylish swimwear pieces for Glamour’s May 2012 issue. She certainly looks elegant and stylish, feminine and sophisticated, and, what is the most important thing, completely confident. Inside the magazine, Lauren dishes on her personal life, her body image issues, as well as what actually happened on ‘The Hills’.
Photos play a great role in celebrity’s lives, so no wonder they pay lots of attention to their physique, making sure they look ideal every time captured by the high definition cameras of the paparazzi that can reveal even the tiniest flaws. It was the unflattering photo taken by a photographer, which zoomed on the cellulite covering Lauren’s legs and which made her forget about wearing swimsuits for years later on. On that issue, she tells Glamour that: “On the vacation to Cabo, I wore a bathing suit on the beach for the first time in years. Usually I’m just petrified. A couple of years ago someone zoomed in on my cellulite and it was so mean. I took it really personally. I haven’t worn a bathing suit in L.A. in years because of that. I haven’t met a woman without insecurities. You just have to learn to play up the positives.’
Being celebrity is actually a tough thing, as they are always on the spotlight and the paparazzi follow them even, when they are on a date. This may sometimes lead to misunderstanding and speculations about celebrities. On this, Lauren Conrad tells the magazine that: “I wish I dated as much as people thought I did! It’s really funny because almost everyone that I’m reportedly ‘dating’ is a friend of mine. About half my friends are guys, and I’ve always gotten along really well with guys. You just have to laugh at it. I feel like most guys aren’t reading Us Weekly. Anyway, it’s not bad if somebody links you to one of your friends. For me, it serves as a distraction from my actual dating life. I can go and date people and not be bothered!’
Talking about the reality TV show ‘The Hills’, Lauren reveals what actually happened on the show, saying that: “During shooting, the producers would send us quick text messages telling us what to talk about. They couldn’t walk through the shot, so they’d just text me, like, ‘Say something quick about this story line.’ That’s why we were always checking our phones!’
Keeping grounded is an important thing for Lauren, about which she says: “For me, the best way to stay grounded is to surround myself with friends and family who knew me way back when. There’s nothing like cleaning my mom’s dishes or taking out the trash to remind me that I’m no different than anyone else.’
