Right now, there seems to be a lot going on in the world. Stressors are at an all-time high as we find ourselves in the wake of the pandemic and on the global shift of change. To top it all off, summer is here, and with it comes the heat. While summer is known to be a fun, exciting time overall, the truth is that when you’re not in the best of moods already, your summer can quickly turn sour. With the excess heat and the increased amount of people outside, you can find yourself even more stressed than you were before summer started. Lucky for you, since summer is the time of enjoyment, it’s also the best time to have some fun, quickly and easily melting your stress away. Here are our favorite fun ways to melt away your stress this summer.

Create Your Own Water Park

While going to a water park can be fun, it can also add a level of stress into your life since you’ll be dealing with crowds. That’s why creating your own water park in your back yard can be so much fun that it can help you melt the stress away. How can you do this? Get a slip-n-slide, an inflatable pool, and a classic sprinkler, scatter them about your back yard, and let go! This offers the best opportunity to act like a child again. You can sit out under the sun, slide around, and/or just sit in your inflatable pool and read. Honestly, even as an adult, I got an inflatable pool during the pandemic, and sitting in it reading was way more fun than I could have anticipated.

Play Online Games

Back in the day, I spent full summers playing online games. Finding the right online game for you and spending time playing it can be a fun way to relieve stress as an adult. It can stimulate your mind while also forcing you to let go and have fun. There are basic, point-and-click games, RPGs, and even casino games that will all leave you having a much-needed blast over the summer. And with it, you can watch your stress melt away. If casino games resonated with you and you’re looking for the best online casinos in Canada, you can check this list before playing.

Find Your Artistic Expression

Sometimes, the most stress-relieving, fun activity can be to let go and create something artistic. Even if you aren’t a skilled painter, it can be fun to take out a canvas, open up some paints, and just let loose on a canvas. The more you don’t care about the results yet focus on the process of having fun and making something new, the more your stress can melt away. Whether it be taking an evening painting class or just creating your own works by unleashing your artistic expression at home, this could be one of the best ways to relieve stress this summer. This can also include creating music, singing karaoke, drawing, crafting, or any form of artistic expression you see fit.

Meditate and Journal

Finally, not everyone will find this fun, but meditation can be an enjoyable, peaceful, stress-relieving way to connect with yourself and chart your progress in life. It may not be for everyone, but there are definitely those of us out there who truly enjoy connecting to our breath and notating where we are in our daily journeys. If that sounds like you, try to meditate once a day for twenty minutes. Part of your meditation can consist of calming yourself, living in mindfulness by notating how you are feeling both physically and mentally, and then setting intentions and feeling gratitude for your life. It can be even more fun to journal for five to ten minutes after each meditation exercise so you can keep track of your progression.

All in all, summer is the greatest time to let loose, have fun, and find ways to relieve your building stress. Through any of the means above you can improve your life by making it more fun one small step at a time. How are you going to spend your summer?
