2022 is set to be another great year for men’s fashion; however, some of the biggest trends coming this year may surprise you. Men’s fashion has always been on the simple side compared to women’s, but this year the style is going up a level.

Everyone from the biggest fashion entrepreneurs to the largest labels in the world is creating some of the best men’s fashion, and trends. Here are the best ones we will see this year.

Strong-Collared Shirts

We have spent many seasons seeing the rise of collared shirts that just don’t have the same oomph we have seen before. However, this year strong-collared shirts are making a comeback in a big way.

The angled, pointed look is perfect for formal occasions, date nights, or to dress up. Choose a neutral color, and you can wear your shirt any time of day and in any season.

Flared Pants

Just when you thought flared pants were left in the 70s, they have made their way back. While the flares aren’t as extreme as we saw in the classic Bee Gees music videos, the unique look is a unique change of direction for boring old pants.

Considering men’s pants don’t have the widest variety in style, something different like this is a brilliant way to switch it up and add some retro style to your closet.

Stripes

Stripes are a great way to add some intricate detail to an otherwise undetailed suit. They work with almost every color and style of suit, but white pinstripes with a dark blue suit are definitely one of the favorites.

If you don’t want to jump to a stripey suit, you can use a stripey tie or pocket square to change the typical suit look.

Knits

Knits are no longer just for your dad or grandfather; knitted sweaters, cardigans, and vests are stylish and simple ways to warm up on a cold day. Knits can also work under suit jackets, especially if you swap out a suit vest with a knitted one.

While the look may be a bit different and not feel right in the beginning, mixing and matching smart and casual winter wear is definitely on trend for 2022.

Red

Red is the color that has risen to be the color of choice for designers and labels alike. While full red outfits can be a bit too bold for some people, red can be used in small amounts to accent neutral looks.

Red ties, pocket squares, and even socks can all be worn to add a pop of color that can transform a look. Unless you are wearing sneakers, avoid red dress shoes as they have too much of a Wizard of Oz feel.

Turtlenecks

Turtlenecks gained a reputation as being something eccentric billionaires wear. However, these ultra-simple jumpers are one of the best things to pair with an overcoat to quickly transform a winter look from average to the catwalk.

If you haven’t worn them before, a classic black turtleneck is a great first choice and can be worn with almost anything for any occasion

Three-Piece Suits

Three-piece suits have always been viewed as a slightly over-the-top choice for formal wear. However, due to the popularity of TV shows such as Suits and Peaky Blinders, three-piece suits have finally made a return to the mainstream.

Three-piece suits are also perfect for accessories; whether it be a pocket square, a pocket watch, or a brightly patterned tie, you can use the suit as a blank slate to go a bit crazy if you want.

Loafers

If red is the year’s color, then loafers are the shoes of the year. Black leather loafers, in particular, are versatile and can be worn with almost any color suit. They are also one of the best shoes if you want to top off a semi-formal look as well.

Camel/Khaki Coats

Camel overcoats are a must for any man’s wardrobe. No matter what your personal style is, a camel overcoat can be worn with a suit or jeans and a t-shirt, and it instantly transforms your look.

If camel isn’t the color for you, then a black or a grey coat will have the same effect, with the latter possibly being better for nighttime.
