Since we’ve been stuck in a rut since the beginning of 2020, more or less, the bridal trends of 2022 are emerging, and they are a unique, statement-making sight to behold! So, without further to do, let’s discuss the Bridal Fashion Trends of 2022!
Layers
Brides, it’s time to get your wedding photographer ready to capture a multitude of fashionable moments at your wedding. In 2022, brides are using layers as a way to make multiple statement looks at their wedding. Their chic look for the ceremony, itself, is fully covered, glamorous, and gorgeous. More importantly, we want brands that don’t just claim they are ethical (anyone can claim it), we want brands who can follow through with those claims and actually provide high-quality, luxurious, sustainable pieces. Dresses made from organic cotton, canvas, and other high-quality recycled materials are in.
When you’re done with your dress, to be more sustainable, think about donating it so another bride can experience the same joy and so your dress doesn’t go to waste.

Unlike trends in the past years, more formal, covering pieces with higher necklines are in. Perhaps, since we spent the last few years living in casual attire, we are ready for much more formal pieces. And we want these formal pieces to have chic turtlenecks, interesting necklines that fight the traditional low-rise cuts, and ties around the neck. We are also preferring bridal looks that have longer sleeves. Many brides are also experimenting this year with blazer-like jackets over their wedding dresses. So, on top of looks that have more coverage, pieces with more coverage that challenge traditional cuts will rule the bridal scene in 2022.
More Color
Finally, while we all love a traditional white dress for our big day, part of the current trends is fighting against the norm and allowing for change. And this includes the world of color! It’s time to add small hints of color into your wedding look (more than just ‘something blue’). Cute white pieces with light-colored or pastel florals or dots are in! Try picking a dress that showcases the traditional white look with a few small colorful designs incorporated on it.
