Because of this, only certain palettes of colors are allowed in San Miguel de Allende- yellow, red, brown, and orange. So, the city is cohesive and chic. It’s the most colonial city in the state of Guanajuato, which is easily noticeable by the beautiful homes that look small on the outside yet are deceptively large on the inside due to the type of architecture used within. In fact, this city is the most expensive city in the state, and more that 20% of its population is made up of foreigners, so you will easily find a melting pot of all types of people.
