Coyote Canyon Adventures Offers an Exciting, Catered Experience in San Miguel de Allende

When organizing a trip out of your home country, it can be rough to put a plan in place, especially if you are looking for adventure. After all, a big part of adventure is stepping out of your comfort zone and experiencing new things, but how can you do that in a place you don’t know much about?
This can be especially true in central Mexico. When you reach the incredible cities of Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, there is a melting pot of cultural, historical, and adventurous activities for you to partake in, but where do you even begin to start planning?
As our team ventured into both San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato this year, we discovered that there are many tour operators that exist who can help you put together your perfect trip, whether that be historical, cultural, gastronomic, or adventurous. However, when it comes to adventure, no tour company can compare with Coyote Canyon Adventures. Coyote Canyon Adventures is award-winning, internationally renowned, and has been in operation since 2000, so you know it’s reliable and everyone there knows exactly what they are doing. When we met the founder, Rodrigo Landeros, at a dinner event celebrating the state of Guanajuato, we knew right away he was a real cowboy. From his dress to his attitude, you can tell this man lives and breathes for adventure. And as a definitive adventure lover myself, I knew Coyote Canyon Adventures was the tour operator for me. You could feel Rodrigo’s passion for his company and all that he does shining off of him as he talked about it, and right away, it made me excited to go horseback riding with his team.
Horseback Riding

Coyote Canyon Adventures offers a variety of horseback tours. From riding up in the canyons to going through the streets of San Miguel de Allende for a pub crawl, there is something for everyone. In my experience, I went out with the team on a horseback ride up the canyon at sunset where we were able to pause and watch the city twinkle as it quickly faded from day to night. After the sunset, we left the canyons to ride through some of the streets of San Miguel de Allende. I loved this tour, as it was a great mix of both worlds- you got to feel like a real cowboy riding up in the canyon before switching it up and riding through the old colonial streets. The contrast between the two environments made for a truly unique, exciting experience. And I can’t recommend Monique enough. She was an excellent guide and companion during the trip.

We spoke about an extremely unique experience that I hope to return to participate in one day. Coyote Canyon Adventures offers a 5-day long experience where you can ride horseback through the canyons from Guanajuato all the way to San Miguel de Allende, complete with nightly campfires and mariachi singers to serenade you when you arrive. If that’s too extreme for you, they also offer an overnight tour. Either way, you get to feel as if you are a real, free-roaming cowboy for a day (or more!), and I think that is likely the most unique experience I have heard of. What a cool adventure!

Ziplining and Rappelling
If horseback riding isn’t your thing, they also offer hiking in the canyons, rappelling down the canyons, and ziplining. So, ask yourself, what is your ideal adventure? They can cater a unique experience to fit the adventurous tours and activities you’d like to do. If you’d like to hear more about their activities, email coyotecanyonadventures@gmail.com to ask for their full catalog. It’s worth it to see the videos that Rodrigo has of their rappelling activities, as well, as I’m sure they’ll inspire you to step out of your comfort zone and try an exciting new activity.
More Laid-Back Tours
If you’re not exactly the adventure lover and, instead, want a more cultural tour to learn about Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, that’s alright. They can cater to you, as well. They offer relaxing tours of the hot springs in San Miguel de Allende, visits to the archaeological site of Cañada de la Virgen, and wine tasting tours around the area. So, again, as I mentioned, there is something for everyone. And if you’re looking for a tour service with heart, this is definitely the place to visit, as Coyote Canyon Adventures has so much heart and personality.

Rather than going on a traditional tour, think about stepping outside of your comfort zone and experiencing a real adventure for once. Grab your boots and hat, and head over to Coyote Canyon Adventures today!
