Leandra Medine #DressedInDutti: The Fashion Blogger Stars in Massimo Dutti’s Winter Campaign
Man Repeller’s Leandra Medine is renowned for her humorous and accurate take on fashion through her blog and as a well respected author, who now appears in the latest Massimo Dutti winter 2016 catalog, dressed, head to toe, in reasonably priced, clearly fashionable and chic Massimo Dutti. The designs are fresh and clean, well priced and the fashion overall is never overbearing or underwhelming and Massimo Dutti is a respected brand for all for these reasons.
The Spanish company that bears an Italian name was founded in 1985 with men’s clothing, but expanded in 1992 to include women’s clothing as well. They create an array of products and offer clothing worldwide. The clothes, fragrances, accessories and even personal tailoring are all respectably brilliant.
As such, the brand is making a smart decision by putting Leandra Medine as the focus person of their editorial, clothed entirely in Massimo Dutti. Furthermore the editorial is full of little quotes and comments from Leandra Medine as well.
In 2014 Leandra Medine was awarded the Shorty Award for Fashion during the sixth annual Shorty Awards, which honors social media users with a serious amount of influence. The awards are given out to those who not only have a lot of followers but those that generate great content for them. Leandea Medine won for her blog, Man Repeller and her twitter @ManRepeller.
Her take on fashion is not only interesting, but also most importantly it is funny. A recent one of the popular reads shown on her blog is ‘My Vintage Levi’s are Body Shaming Me’ and some of the personal style challenges covered on her blog are great as well.
The recent Thigh High Boot Challenge was interesting, as well as the challenges to not look in mirrors and even only eating sugar and not wearing denim. The site is a great way to stay interested in fashion when a lot of other fashion geared sites and magazines can end up being depressing and confidence crushing.
When people realize that with all the variance of style and use of color and texture, many parts of fashion are ironically bland and the same, Leandra Medine is one source of fashion content that can keep things light and fun. As such it is not a surprise that Massimo Dutti has put her as the star of their current campaign.
Massimo Dutti will get plenty of additional publicity from her incredible number of fans on social media across most of the well know and used platforms. With just Leandra Medine’s face and name, the hashtag #DressedInDutti and her social media influence, they will do far more for promoting their brand than the editorial would have with nearly any other name.
