Chloe Fall 2016 Ad Campaign Inspired by a Renowned French Explorer
Some things never change and we are glad they don’t. The newest Chloe fall/winter 2016-2017 ad campaign is all about a dreamy, fairytale-like atmosphere the French Maison usually embraces, but which this time around got enhanced with a vintage effect that makes everything look even more ethereal!
Photographed by Theo Wenner, the new Chloe fall 2016 campaign took models Sofie Hemmet, Michi Kat, Ellen De Weer, and Frederikke Sofie to Southern Italy, Puglia, where tradition meets modernity and jaw-droopingly stunning landscapes, and natural scenery frames everything. Sun-faded colors and natural lights are therefore at the core of the campaign’s artistic effects, here magnificently mastered by Theo Wenner.
“There is such a bold sense of duality in this collection‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Üthat natural toughness and fragility of women side by side. So we wanted to explore that through the campaign images with an ambiguous and cinematic atmosphere that allows each girl to emerge as a strong character,” explained Chloé’s creative director Clare Waight Keller in an official press note, pointing out that the results turned out to describe the Chloé woman, who is “nonchalant, but also quite fearless‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Üand very much alive!’
Not for nothing, the campaign got overwhelmed with some strong Seventies vibes that, along with the overall empowering motifs, got in return inspired by one of the most iconic and free-spirited souls of all time: Anne-France Dautheville.
The main source of inspiration for the Chloé fall 2016 ad campaign is, in fact, Anne-France, a French journalist who made history by participating in the ‘Orion Raid’ (Paris ” Isfahan) in 1972, driving solo a Moto-Guzzi 750. Like Anne-France Dauthevilli, Chloé’s squad of beauties embraces the same independent state of mind and adventurous spirit, infusing the entire campaign with strong empowering vibes we can’t get enough of.
Everything is therefore heavily Seventies inspired, from the models’ hairdos to the accessories they are wearing, among which Chloé’s brand new It-items surely stick out. Both the ‘Drew’ and ‘Lexa’ handbags get their time to shine throughout the campaign, highlighting the collection’s other accessories even more (you can purchase these and the rest of the collection at Luisa Via Roma, Net-a-Porter and Selfridges).
Although the Chloé FW 2016-17 line-up is all about covetable pieces, such as relaxed shirts, turtleneck blouses and leather trousers, the campaign charms us with the collection’s must-have accessories, including the glamorous ankle boots, thin scarves and rounded sunglasses, which will act as amazing finishing touches for your upcoming season outfits.
Like Puglia, which is a balanced potpourri of traditional and contemporary motifs, the Chloé fall 2016 campaign features a well-mixed combination of similar patterns, with the Maison’s signature classic aesthetics here skillfully paired with Dauteville’s visionary vibes and open-minded attitude.
