Maaji Summer 2016 Swimwear: Art Essence
Art and fashion are particularly deeply intertwined when it comes to this year’s new collections. More and more labels actually draw inspiration from the world of art to create their collections, overwhelming our wardrobes with a world made of colors and jocose patterns. While a few days ago it was Oysho’s turn to please us with some artistic beach proposals, we are today presenting an equally creative collection that is literally immersed into the essence of art: Maaji swimwear. The Maaji summer 2016 swimwear collection is finally here (available at Nordstrom and ASOS), and will make it almost impossible for anyone not to find something special and true to their likings. Dubbed ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§Art Essence’, the collection presents four different subcategories, namely Tintoretto Sky, Birdlime Canvas, Rosewood Expressions and Tangerine Muses, all together including a grand total of 73 different swim proposals.
As usual, nature and the oceans have also inspired Maaji, and the brand is still propagandizing its “Planting an Ocean of Trees” campaign as a way of giving something back to our planet. If you are not familiar with the label, you will get positively surprised to know that Maaji has a long history of sustainability and overall green-friendly choices, which inevitably make its products even more appealing.
Given the fact that Colombia is the place where all the Maaji swimsuits are created, the creations are also intricately linked to the country’s culture and traditions, with a strong focus on the magic realism that was, for example, also at the core of Gabriel Garc‚a M‚Äö√†√∂¬¨‚àûrquez’ masterpieces. That’s the reason why, each of the four different subcategories of the Maaji swimwear summer 2016 collection is nothing but a cheerful burst of magical colors and prints, meant to be mix-and-matched according to your personal preferences. The collection also comprises both bikinis and one-pieces, interrupting the swimwear proposals with coordinating cover-ups you would like to wear even off the beach.
Named after one of the most famous Italian painters from the Renaissance period, Tintoretto Sky’s 18 proposals all stand out with a bold style and bright combinations of colors that mainly come in blues and oranges. Birdlime Canvas, on the other hand, lets its 19 swimsuits get overwhelmed with the nature’s earth tones and prints, focusing on sleeves and psychedelic retro patterns. If the hippies had met the surfer movement in the Nineties, something like this collection would have been born for sure. If you are looking for a cozy sporty long-sleeved top, we specifically recommend taking a look at this naturalistic subcategory.
Delicate and feminine, the line of Rosewood Expressions combines floral patterns with modern art deco motifs, painting them with purple, vivid pink and salmon pink shades, adding then almost imperceptible color-blocking motifs with either green leaves or visible contrasting seams. The designs available in the Rosewood Expressions category are the most casual and fresh of all, not to mention their irresistible cuteness.
Last but not least, Tangerine Muses will not only let you combine an array of summery jocose light orange proposals with botanical prints, but also make you travel to the Moroccan shores of Tangeri with all its braided detailing and feminine frills. If you are not into prints, however, rejoice! All of these subcategories feature solid-colored proposals too that are equally dreamlike and comfortable!
