Oscar de la Renta Spring 2017 Bridal Collection
Spring is here for now, but if you are planning for a wedding, it is not likely that we’ll be having the celebrations within months. A year is needed at the least, which means that the dress you wear down that aisle will definitely have to be in the latest style. As such, Peter Copping has a plan. For the Oscar de la Renta creative director, it is important for the selections to reflect well for the modern woman, the lady who is strong and bold and still happens to enjoy a conservative wedding. She needs not wear puffed up gowns, though the house certainly supplies that as well, not does she need to have the hem reach the ground.
There are 25 distinct dresses to the Oscar de la Renta spring 2017 bridal collection. We see necklines of all types, starting with some plunging looks that the woman who has enjoyed the 2015 and 2016 styles would certainly go for, the thicker material around the legs, stiffer in order to ensure volume and the ivory detailing that gives the not so perfectly bleached white dress a rather prairie-like appeal.
We see a whole lot of shoulder showing throughout, due to strapless selections, off-the-shoulder tulle, as well as guipure material covering the décolletage but still showing off what is underneath. Easily the top trend among the dresses, however, is the strapless look, which appears on the long hemmed and the short, though not on the flower girls’ princess puffs.
The dresses come in simple satins and lovely tulles, pretty guipure with embroideries across the bottom and some more structured looks that add interesting artistry to the mermaid’s tail. Strapless with tulle adds for a fairy tale look, which will capture the hearts of the more romantic and classically inclined.
The simplicity of most of the gowns, however, has us wondering about bridal gown talents in Copping. After all, while the material is certainly in line with luxury, the creativity seems to be lacking somewhat. We can, however, appreciate the modern touch to the designs we see on the ladies showing off the bridal collection for the spring season of 2017.
One of the more interesting features of this line includes the dresses that combine mini dresses with tulle additions that somehow cover up the legs and bring out the beauty of the bodice with the off the shoulder looks. At the same time, the corseted tops work wonders on shaping up the figures.
We do see some longer sleeves in thick guipure with furry cuffs, the dress itself a sheath around the tall silhouette. Long veils covering the bride’s face but also allowing for maximum vision are in the books and we are certainly happy for that. The whole of the Oscar de la Renta spring 2017 bridal collection does not seem to have much that is different to offer, but it certainly is about the sophisticated woman who would like to mark her big day in white.
