Team DV at Versace Fall 2016 RTW Show
Ohhh sexy mama! We knew Versace can be hot and we have seen it proven to us season after season, but the Versace fall/winter 2016-2017 collection is smoldering! And it is not only the sexy factor either. The ladies appearing on stage with the latest in Versace ready-to-wear collection are chic, elegant and positively delightful to watch as they strut down that runway. With 58 different outfits brought to the world, ranging from school-girl to a lady of the night, there is literally something for everyone to choose from. The prospects found on this catwalk are beyond wondrous when considering the fashion world. It is just the third day on the Milan Fashion Week and we can easily say that the designers here are fast turning into some of our very favorites.
Donatella Versace is an incredible designer herself and the house of her namesake has seen major growth in its fan base of late, particularly due to its embracing of social media, and, as seen today, bringing in the big guns in the form of top models. We saw some really big names walking for Versace just a few hours back, bringing in an elitist air by sending out supermodels Gigi Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn and many more.
Our darling Donatella also added a photo to her Instagram page, posing with Kendall and Gigi, claiming the trio to be Team DV. The show was streaming live online, giving the rest of the world a good taste of what to expect from the upcoming seasons of Donatella Versace creations.
Instead of risqué dresses as we have gotten accustomed to, we were instead given a full line of tailored looks and lots of athleisure pieces, the colors really brightening up the mood. There was everything from electric peach to pure navy hues, a variety of pastels and lots of black and white, as is a major part of the 2016 trends.
Among the trends were also some asymmetrical skirts, slits up the thigh, midi hems, high necks reminiscent of the Chinese looks, half boots that reach over the ankle, defined waists, high waists, cropped jackets, gloves and matching tops and bottoms, despite wearing a different blouse underneath. There were lots of extremely short hems as well, appearing as if the trends might be moving away from the midis if Versace is to be trusted on this.
Then again, the trend of suits is still very much in and the use of squiggly waves is so much more enviable than a plain pair. Towards the end of the Versace fall 2016 show, we see some major bursts of color, interesting cuts to the pieces and black or white looks that scream with waves connected to them. We are in love with a few of the shorter pieces, especially where the waves take up the hem and it appears as if it is a gorgeous little black shift worn out in public, with a blazer thrown on top. Gorgeous!
