Alberta Ferretti Fall 2016 RTW Line Explores Dreams and Fantasies
Italy is known for being an incredible fashion hub. That means that it not only gives birth to some of the best in designers, but also has managed to keep chin high and conquer the fashion world in terms of providing materials and the best in trending designs. Alberta Ferretti is among the top artists in this field within the country, her showroom located in Milan itself, though her studio is in the village of Cattolica. Her creations are so well loved that there have been quite a few newcomers to the movie and show business industry who have worn the label last year alone at the Oscar nominations.
The Alberta Ferretti fall/winter 2016-2017 collection is actually quite lovely, with the use of lots of silk and accentuating the trend of sleepwear as outerwear, throwing on what seems like very good quality pajamas and having her girls walk down that runway in more homey looks. The show starts off with shiny green silk and gentle hues of pink, appearing as nightgowns and pajamas. And then there are some rather shiny and more comfortable designs that appear in the midst, fading away quickly when the long slips come into play.
The colors are light and peaceful, almost neutral in their mistiness. Some of the sheerer organza looks, on the other hand, have a direct sensuality to them that gives off a come hither vibe to all those who happen upon them. That sensuality turns into hot passion with the black sequins on the sheer black dress.
Throughout the collection, we see hints of floral prints, but they seem to fade away as quickly as they appear. Normally they rear their heads with the sheerer, less nightgown oriented dresses, in earthy colors, though the silk pajamas certainly are better for their inclusion. While we keep seeing sleepwear on that catwalk, we also notice a few other trends, such as the plunging necklines, the simplicity of the looks, fur stoles and puffier sleeves.
Of course, not everything has a sleepwear connotation, which effectively means that there are looks in there for us who are not yet comfortable wearing our nighties out in public in broad daylight, even in the middle of the night. One particular print that looks like a cross between a candy is a snail and other unrelated things, replacing the florals and really adding some spice to the outfit, whether it is a dress, a suit or otherwise.
While many designers have great looks, when it comes to the dresses, we are positive investing in one of the looks seen today by Alberta Ferretti will not be regretted‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√묨‚àÇ ever. There is too much perfection in each of the silhouettes, from the soft tulle to the long pieces with bird in tree depictions, the simple neutral hued dresses, with a whole lot of vintage color beauty happening. It was all very feminine and inspiring, without being too much or appearing to be too little. Short skirts or long pieces, Ferretti’s got something for all of us.
