David Koma Fall 2016 RTW Show Brought Modern Metallics to London Fashion Week
Undoubtedly one of the best designers on the London Fashion Week runway has to be David Koma, with the use of white and grey and black throughout, creating the perfect fall and winter seasonal looks that combine sassy with professional, chic with elegant, exuding a good amount of sophistication. The looks showcased at today’s David Koma fall 2016 fashion show speak of strong personalities and unique characters among the ladies, while still maintaining a certain status quo.
We see wraparound jackets and asymmetrical wraparound skirts, futuristic turtleneck sweaters with defined sleeves and wraparound blazers. We notice metallic polka dotted dresses and long, sleeveless features combining long vests with single-piece suits. We see defined waists with leather and puffy sweater with turtlenecks, gorgeous halter dresses that make a V slit in front and lots of shoulder cutouts.
There are even a few pieces, where the center of the chest is pretty clear, showing off skin down to the abdomen, ensuring all underneath is taut and sexy to behold. There are leather wraparound skirts and interesting prints on pretty much everything, simple yet repetitive, easy on the eyes but also rather annoying overall.
What we love most are those little black dresses, with the asymmetrical straps and hems, the wraparound aspects and the whole mini to midi effect, falling to mid-thigh. For those of us who are a lot more linear in thinking, the single side slits and single open shoulder cuts begin grating on the nerves, but look just about perfect for the artistic types, or at least for those who do not have ADD or OCD. We absolutely love the black looks though, especially the leather pants with the wide legs, though the inclusion of all the slits reminds us heavily of the 2016 trends.
We can easily say that David Koma is an incredible designer. He takes what he has and keeps tweaking it around, making sure the same prints and the same dots and the same wraparound fashion appears everywhere, changing the lengths, the combinations and the cuts, working with all the year’s top fashions to pull together a line-up of pieces that few can ignore. They are astounding in their fits and inspiring in their creations, for it is clear that the lady wearing the David Koma fall 2016 RTW collection will be leading the projects and commanding the respect of her team.
Towards the end of the line, we also notice some royal blue pieces, including a shoulder-cut-out asymmetrical hemmed mini dress with a high neckline single shoulder double strapped jumpsuit with a thick leather belt corset accentuating the waist, shiny skirts, turtlenecks and more. We also see the appearance of the black and red style, on miniskirts and skirt with sweater combinations. There are bodysuits with see-through patched chain mail skirts in blue sapphire on the set, along with a whole lot of black footwear, from the mules to the half boots, those ending at the ankles and both leather and velvet designs. It is an elegant collection indeed.
