MAC’s New Collection: a Modern Twist for Spring 2016
Have you seen the new MAC Modern Twist collection for the spring season of 2016? With the warmer weather beginning to dawn on us and the concept of spring no long a farfetched dream for those, who simply cannot stand the dreary grey skies of winter, it is only right that we have new makeup collections to be celebrating the season of making babies, perhaps even going at it like bunnies. There is a new line of cosmetics by MAC coming out soon, to be released online on February 25th and expected to hit retail stores by March 3rd. It will be available at MAC Cosmetics, Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s and Dillard’s and will be including some really interesting makeup products in multiple hues and joining the permanent range.
While there is not a myriad of pieces to be found, we are no less excited to see the different eyeliners that fall into the Modern Twist Kajal Liners collection that will be available by the end of the month to the mass public. The best part is that it is not a limited edition line either, meaning that we can enjoy each hue separately or together, however we prefer on a given day.
The official description of the collection states: “For a new take on tradition, M‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö‚Ć‚àö¬•A‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö‚Ć‚àö¬•C introduces Modern Twist Kajal Liner, a kohl-like liner that’s sultry, seductive and maybe a little bit scandalous. The easy-glide formula makes this pencil a one-stroke wonder with a silky, soft texture that’s perfect for rimming the sensitive waterline. Its colour intensity and extreme depth creates a look with unparalleled impact. The long-wearing waterproof formula locks in your look for hours.’
It certainly makes sense, since the twistable liners with the self-sharpening aspect come in 13 colors and go for $17 USD each, ranging from deep blue to grey muted plum, platinum to a warm and rich bronze brown. All thirteen of the hues include:
• Shoreline ” grey
• Squid ” carbon black
• Cat’s Meow ” black
• Black Walnut ” brown-black
• Polar Ice ” pearly white
• Nothing On ” light beige
• New Marine ” emerald green
• Long Espresso ” espresso brown
• Ocean Liner ” deep blue
• Swamped ” deep khaki green
• Grey Tide ” platinum
• Groundbreaker ” warm, rich bronzy brown
• Nightcast ” grey muted plum
Even though there is only the liner to be found here, we know that there will be more available soon through different collaborations or even from the in-house designers, particularly in the realm of lipsticks. While the past year was overly concerned with the clear face, 2016 is all about colors and we love that MAC is working hard on delivering exactly what we need to emulate some of the looks seen on the runways, whether for spring and summer or fall and winter.
The originally Canadian company has been growing beautifully of late and we are enjoying the constant new releases in brow products, skin essentials, eye makeup and more. This reminds us, you might also want to check out the new debut color collection from New York designer Zac Posen to be available come March 2016, along with this Modern Twist eyeliner release.
