Tom Ford Spring/Summer 2016 Ad Campaign
The revolutionizer has unveiled his new ad campaign! Yes, it’s the Tom Ford spring/summer 2016 campaign we’re talking about (who else would lead the fashion revolution?). In his endless search for new ways and events to sell a collection, he has managed to become a media favorite. We are genuinely interested in every step Ford takes, because we are sure it’s going to be a new experiment in the fashion industry.
And we are never wrong! Just when all other designers and brands are putting their resources in new ad campaigns, Tom Ford has decided to make the lazy shortcut. When the news broke that Tom Ford’s campaign is about to be launched on his website, we thought something big is coming (some of us even checked the weather for any upcoming storms). Tom Ford is still pushing the game of efficiency, giving us nothing more than shots from his Lady Gaga video. Yes, you heard it right! The images for Tom Ford’s spring 2016 campaign are from the video created in collaboration with Lady Gaga last October.
These images, however, don’t feature our art pop queen. Instead they show all the best angles of hot models like Lucky Blue Smith, Mica Arganaraz, and Lida Fox, and others. All looking styled from head to toe, having fun, posing like the coolest faces you will meet in an NYC club. Besides keeping platinum blonde and pastel colors in trend, Ford’s new campaign sends us incredible party vibes just before the weekend.
We are in tune with the energy of the campaign, but the master plan behind it is still slightly vague for us. Whether Ford saved on a new concept and execution or this is another statement move from him, we were expecting something more than the images from the video. Despite this slight disappointment that we are ready to forget because of the awesome collection, the campaign is very impressive. By the way, in case you missed, the video was shot by Nick Knight in Los Angeles.
We are expecting an international release with top fashion publications like Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Elle, and Vanity Fair in March. We think the main theme will be kept in spring ” models wearing Ford and having fun on a runway-club. It’s not about the cold display you see during fashion shows, this campaign is all about character.
Losing control, having fun, and keeping it classy at the same time. Ford’s non-standard ideas and initiatives are a perfect way of expressing the fun-loving and crazy heroes of his new campaign.
Finally, the campaign has already been launched on the designer’s official website. Will this lazy shortcut work? Is it the new way of presenting collections and creating a hype? Go check out Ford’s new experiment, if you crave more details, and let us know what you think!
