River Island Spring/Summer 2016 Collection
We hope you have saved some of your energy for us, because after all those spring 2016 campaigns you’ve seen here, we are not done yet! How can you finish the campaign season without River Island‘s new original ad campaign for spring 2016? Impossible, right? So, expect lots of color, prints, and style!
Just like some of the other campaigns that are making headlines at the moment, this one is also inspired by the ’70s. You can’t blame the campaign really; the River Island spring/summer 2016 collection itself has details taken from that time period. Some of our favorites are the fringe jackets (Yes! Bring back the fringe!), the floral prints on the dresses and some retro patchwork on the skirts.
Speaking about prints, River Island’s new collection is nothing near monotone. Besides the floral prints that will take you back in time for a few decades, it also offers stripes and a variety of other prints. If you like to look hot in summer, you will most probably find a piece that attracts your taste.
The collection is very rich in details but it’s not overwhelming to the point that everything on your outfit looks too much. There is a fine line between the right amount of color, print and details that can be added together and a mess. River Island’s new collection is a perfect example of how to keep that balance.
The same trend is seen in colors. We, of course, have a lot of white, whether monochrome or in prints, this is a universal trend for the upcoming seasons. But then again, it’s summer! So, let’s add some sea pink, a few shades of orange and green, and there you go! We have the refreshing citrus all over the collection.
There is more to this! River Island is also taking up the denim trend, presenting an all-denim outfit, from head to toe, a high-waist swimsuit and a denim coat over it‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√묨‚àÇ can you rock this look at the beach? Take a deep breath, not all the items on the list are edgy; most of the pieces are on the safe side, and you don’t have to be an innovation leader to wear them first in your city.
Maybe you already guessed, this is not a dessert for minimalists. But, if you are ready to give up a few minimalistic principles, try the khaki zip-up dress or almost every piece that comes in white or cream with tiny pops of color here and there. A little bit of everything for everyone!
Interestingly, we don’t see too many pastels in the designs, while the backgrounds are all in pastels! Hard colors contrasting the soft shades in the background create one of the main storylines of River Island.
Another awesome campaign‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√묨‚àÇ although we are not in awe or shock, we’re sure that it was never the primary aim of River Island in the first place. We loved the fashion, we loved the presentation, now it’s time for you to show your love too!
