Oysho Gymwear Spring 2016 Inspires A Warrior Style
Scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5th to 21st, the 2016 summer Olympics are one of the long-awaited events of the year. Among many brands, Oysho is the one that got overwhelmed the most by the Olympics, as it decided to even create a dynamic spring 2016 collection entirely inspired by the Olympic Games. Evocatively entitled ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§Warrior’, the style of the Oysho spring 2016 gymwear collection embodies a strong independent woman, who has ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§fitness’ and ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§oriental culture’ on her list of interests.
‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§Warrior’ combines classic activewear lines with a positive and determined attitude, clearly visible within the many cozy, yet fierce items, such as the accessories (among which armbands and weights are surely destined to quickly go sold out) and technically well developed pieces of clothing that will help us prevent seat stains. The collection’s main colors, namely blue, red, black and white, accentuate such aspects, enhancing the figure and creating strong color-blocking contrasts. Bold red items remind us of China, while red combined with white recalls Japan’s national colors, lessening the distances between western and oriental philosophy, as well as attitude towards sports.
To help us better imagine the collection’s sources of inspiration and aims, Oysho released an accompanying video full of strength and willingness to improve oneself, wherein two fighting models channel the Warrior style. Made in collaboration with Spanish artist Ernesto Artillo, whose contemporary and quirky portraits and collages often mix art with fashion, Oysho’s Warrior video features a one-of-a-kind soundtrack too. Created by Najwa Nimri and Carlos Jean, ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§Bonzo’ helps emphasize the collection’s independent and strong attitude, giving the video’s viewers an almost mystic experience.
As for the Oysho gymwear 2016 collection itself, it presents some clear statement pieces including oversized text-print t-shirts, sports tops and tank tops. Then, just by looking at the leggings, one knows for sure that getting bored with the Oysho Warrior collection is not an option: from cropped ombre geometric leggings to white block options to even floral ones, the collection invested its time to make gym time fun time indeed.
However, if you really can’t stand leggings or are just looking for an equally comfy alternative, Oysho has also designed some figure-flattering shorts that one could definitely showcase as clothes to wear to the streets too (after all, we all know athleisure is on the rise this year, isn’t it?). Speaking of athleisure pieces, don’t forget to check out Oysho’s Warrior sweatshirts, quilted jackets and hoodies, the style of which will literally win you over!
When it comes to the accompanying accessories, besides the aforementioned armbands, Oysho’s line offers clear plastic bottles that, aside from being a good sustainable gift, will work as a friendly reminder that, no matter what we are doing, hydrating oneself is the first step to a healthy lifestyle.
With its price tags ranging from €12 to €40, the Oysho 2016 activewear collection also includes Warrior style sneakers (the prices of which are circa €30-€36 depending on the models) that are just perfect alternatives to luxe athleisure footwear.
