Keep That Effortless Thing Going: Reformation’s Tee Collection 2016
According to their site, they make killer clothes that do not kill the environment. Thy use RefRecycling, where it makes things easier for one to recycle clothing no longer worn, RefScale, tracking the exact impact each piece of clothing has on the environment, and look at the Impact of Fashion, considered the third most polluting industry in the world. Within a world that is slowly but surely becoming more and more eco-friendly the brand known as Reformation is certainly showing great promise, a label that seems to create great clothing as well, including the recent Reformation 2016 tee collection.
The idea behind Reformation is to have fashion and sustainability coexist. It was founded in 2009 by Yael Aflalo, and each piece is designed and manufactured in-house, within the region of downtown Los Angeles. There is a sustainable sewing factory there that churns out the collections later shown off, such as the Reformation Tee collection for 2016. The looks are pretty awesome, but what is even more outstanding is exactly how they are produced.
A little background on the facilities of Reformation: they have a heat-reflecting roof, use renewable energy to run everything, have recycled hangers and even the packaging used to pack and ship the pieces are from recycled material. They look for the sustainable way to be fashionable, from the sourcing of their fabrics to the sales and marketing down on a smaller scale. It is certainly commendable and we are looking forward to the day that people go back to shopping from the smaller businesses and individual firms. Plus, local production means local jobs, engaging in the local economy and giving back to the community in a whole different manner.
So now that we are sure we want to shop from the company as it is, we should point out that the newest Reformation tees are rather awesome! From the simpler relaxed crew tee from flax to the plush slim crew tees, we can easily fall in love with this line-up. Gorgeous striped tees certainly add to the trendiness of our looks, the black and white combination coming in handy, while those Kenny tees are alluring all on their own.
It appears that most of the looks are in a crew shape to the neckline as well, though they come in different fits, from the tighter to the relaxed, and different colors, from black to white to grey and more. One of our very favorites is the striped charcoal and black tee in flax and a relaxed fit, the crew neck only adding to it in this case.
There are grunge tees though and even a V-neck or two, while each can find exactly what is needed, from the oversized fits to the fitted designs. Of course, if you care for a skirt or a jacket as well, there is a sexy star embossed center zip miniskirt, as well as a star emblazoned Big Dipper style jacket that goes for a whopping $498 USD. We’ll just stick to the much more affordable tees, please.
