Alberta Ferretti Pre-Fall 2016 Collection
Loads of frills and perfect daywear designs that are close to the animal kingdom are the main characteristic features of the newly unveiled Alberta Ferretti pre-fall 2016 collection, which reveals the designer’s incredible tailoring skills add a feral touch to the upcoming transitional season. Creating a perfect balance between lightweight pieces and cozier, warmer designs using fur and heavier materials, she managed to come up with an ideal transitional collection that has all your fashion needs covered for that particular season.
A proud member of the fashion industry since she was just 18 years old, Ferretti launched her namesake label in 1974, later also founding the Philosophy di Alberta Ferretti (now di Lorenzo Serafini) in 1987. These two lines mainly differ in audience, the first one aiming towards a more mature public and the second catering to a younger audience. Ferretti has, however, diversified her works throughout the years, exploring even sportswear and childrenswear. Such a diversity made it possible for the many lines to influence one another, as proven by her pre-fall 2016 collection too.
Although mainly directed towards the cosmopolitan urban women, the Alberta Ferretti pre-fall 2016 collection definitely has a younger twist, as it dares with ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§wild’ looks and some intricate psychedelic design patterns that are almost hypnotizing. Staying true to her signature looks (those evening frills will never stop making every piece look so ethereal and sophisticated), she managed to combine and revisit one of this year’s greatest comebacks: animal prints. Instead of only showcasing some classic leopard or tiger-skin fabrics, Ferretti’s wilder side goes further in its mission welcoming us to the jungle, where human beings and actual tigers and snakes peacefully share the same environment.
To strengthen the ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§into the wild illusion’, Ferretti used her tailoring skills to create outfits that could resemble the jagged horizons of the jungles, as well as those of a desert or the open ocean. That’s also why the color palette is loyal to the natural hues seen in nature, where earthy colors such as dark brown, camel and leaf green perfectly blend together, creating a breathtaking picture.
To help lessen the distances between the urban and the natural worlds, Ferretti opted for black and white hues too, adding sheer and fur fabrics to enhance the city-meets-jungle illusion. As for the dresses, Ferretti brought some Sixties Roaring twenties mixed vibes into the pre-fall 2016 season, alternating layered silhouettes and drop-waists midi dresses.
Oversized coats and unisex jackets clearly are the collection’s key pieces along with the footwear line, in case of which dramatic animal embroideries harmoniously coexist with Ferretti’s signature clean lines and sharp silhouettes.
