Gucci SS 2016 Campaign Features Some Awesome Peacocks
All the spring campaigns are beginning to come to light! Fashion photographer Glen Luchford has aptly captured the latest Gucci spring/summer 2016 campaign, featuring models such as Peyton Knight, Polina Oganicheva, Elizabeth Moore, Arnis Cielava, Mia Gruenwald, Hugo Goldhoorn, and Nicole Atieno, among many others, appearing to be at a bus terminal, with peacocks in hand, flower shops in the background and some pretty fun shots in bathrooms with hand dryers.
The campaign features the Gucci SS 2016 collection by Alessandro Michele, the Italian brand really taking the advertising down a different path. Gucci is known for its wacky approach to capturing the media’s and consumer attention. That means going over the top in its staging process, this time with some intriguing additions to the foray. High drama is exactly what the campaign captures, beginning with an image where a woman is leaning sorrowfully on a hand dryer, an embracing couple beside her, the man seemingly wanting to comfort the first model.
It is a tableau that we see, a flash image of a night out unfolding not the way the ladies hoped it would. It is all so very carefully styled, with clashing pinks and reds, lipstick stains, pussy-bow blouses, lace shirts and metallic skirts, along with those awesome new glitter glasses with the oversized and rather thick frames. Bomber jackets are embellished, green is a color that wins out, and that glittering suit is certainly one of the wacky throw-ins that we all want but have no idea where we would where.
The Gucci SS 2016 campaign shoots were done in Berlin, and it all had a very retro meets modern vibe to it, kind of like all of its latest collections. This campaign is no different, of course, and the focus on the forest green is killing us. It is all too perfect and pretty much the hue makes for the new black of 2016.
Glitter trainers, lace shorts, striped blouses, and pompoms on hats over the head all make for intriguing combinations. Add in some antisocial behavior like riding a skateboard in a mall while holding a peacock, or carrying one up the metro stairs while wearing a simple brown coats, in direct contrast with the red and floral embroidered ensemble the one standing beside you has donned on, and you have the latest Gucci campaign in a handful of intriguing images.
Whether you put the Gucci wearers on a rooftop overlooking the whole of the city or you have them falling to the floor in a drunken stupor while wearing some fun designs and glitter fringed mules, one cannot help but admit that this is a crazy but train wreck awesome campaign feature which we certainly have quite a bit of problems ungluing our eyes from. We are not sure whether it is good or bad, but it is amazing in a please end it soon kind of way. Now, thinking that while wearing red bell bottom pants just makes it all the more appealing, no?
