Sephora and Pantone Launch Makeup Line for 2016
Year in, year out the Pantone color of the year having been announced, willy-nilly we find ourselves in great anticipation of the Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year 2016 collaborative makeup products to be launched. It has already become a tradition for Sephora and Pantone Universe to unite their forces for the release of a makeup line around the year’s winner color. The year of 2015 enjoyed a makeup line where the winning color Marsala was the protagonist, while the year of 2014 was renowned by the Radiant-Orchid-oriented makeup collection release. The upcoming year of 2016 has the whole two winning colors at its disposal, which means that Sephora + Pantone Universe collaboration will leave us in the thick of Rose Quartz and Serenity experimental processes for a long time.
The collaboration gave birth to a 24-shaded rich makeup palette, two matte lipsticks in Rose Quartz and Serenity and a 6-piece Watercolor lip gloss set. The launch date is not yet revealed though we know that the paramount day will be within December and we also know that we should hurry, as the collection is limited edition. According to WWD, nothing will be priced over $39 and we can purchase the sweet nothings at Sephora stores and on Sephora.com later this month. Take a close look at the collection’s integral parts and start planning your future precious investments in your look.
Sephora+Pantone Universe Modern Watercolors Eye Palette ($39.00) (Limited Edition)
This rich eye palette containing 24 different shades is not destined for playing only with Rose Quartz and Serenity. The plethora of shades with matte or shimmery effect, with nude or popping versions is to provide you with multiple attractive looks, focusing on the spring/ summer 2016 color trends. Here is how Sephora pro Helen Phillips is explaining the interplay between these rich shades: “Neutrals like greige can accentuate the softness of Serenity and Rose Quartz. It complements both tones and can add depth as a crease color. Monochromatic looks with pinks and blues can also add depth and be a fun party look. Try Rose Quartz with a bright pink as a crease color or Serenity with navy to bring dimension.”
Sephora+Pantone Universe Colors of the Year Matte Lipsticks in Serenity and Rose Quartz ($18.00) (Limited Edition)
You have definitely at least once tried pale pink shade on your lips but you have never seen powdery blue lips of yours reflected in the mirror, for sure. Both come to be in creamy cushiony formula thus providing highly pigmented color to your lips. The tubes being designed in Rose Quartz-Serenity ombré effect drop a hint that you can work out super attractive ombré lips with Pantone 2016 colors come spring. Your favorite Sephora does not leave you alone in this intricate process and provides you with an effective tip on how to wear ombré lips: “Apply either Rose Quartz or Serenity to your bottom lip and then rub the top into it for a modern, light gradient effect. Make sure there is enough color on the top and if not, reapply to the bottom lip again and repeat.”
