Bar Refaeli Smolders In Agent Povocateur SS 2016 Lingerie Campaign
With Bar Refaeli as the face of the new Agent Provocateur spring 2016 ad campaign, we knew we were in for a sensual surprise. Refaeli was photographed outside of Paris as a barn girl in a variety of seductive shots, surrounded by bales of hay. Sebastian Faena was on the other side of the camera in the countryside, with the setting bringing up the memory of a hot summer day, and with it the great feelings of being outside and spending time under the warm sun.
The executives at large cited many films as inspiration for this provocative shoot, such as “Paris Texas,’ “Stealing Beauty,’ “The Virgin Suicides,’ and “Last Tango in Paris.’ And with this diverse film inspiration in mind, the team set off to a sunny photoshoot ” or so they thought. Sarah Shotton, creative director, said they were met instead by clouds and cold rain, definitely not the ideal circumstances for a summer-themed photoshoot.
“There we were in our North Face puffer jackets, hoping for some sun,’ Shotton told WWD. “Thank God for Bar ” she was a really good sport, waiting in the stables until the sun came out. And she is really hot ” you can’t look like that and feel the cold.’
And of course she’s right there. Refaeli’s smoldering beauty was the grounds for her hottest photoshoot yet, and also the reason she was selected to head this campaign. Shotton chose her because she has a “film noir, feline quality,’ which fit in perfectly with Agent Provocateur’s aesthetic and new theme.
With the unideal circumstances of the weather as an inevitable damper, however, the team set to complete the shoot. If the lack of sun impacted the photoshoot in any way, it didn’t show in the resulting pictures. Refaeli was every ounce of seduction the shots needed, fully making up for any lack of sunshine.
She is featured wearing some significant looks for the Agent Provocateur spring 2016 season, many of which serve double or triple purposes. Some of the lingerie could be worn in bed‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Üas pajamas or otherwise ” but other garments still could be worn as actual clothing, such as a lace crop top, which could be a great layering piece.
This idea of versatility was an integral part of the campaign this season, according to Shotton. She said there is a trend, where women want multiple purposes for their lingerie. “They also want to show off our lingerie and are looking for something that is out of the ordinary,’ she told the news site.
And of course that’s the struggle in the lingerie industry. When top lingerie brands are expensive and luxurious, of course women will want others to know they are sporting those looks. But naturally, women can’t run around showing their bras to anyone who walks past, and so brands like AP here are coming up with creative ways to help women achieve something similar.
And this campaign is the perfect platform to showcase the best looks of the upcoming season. With Bar as the face of the campaign, however, it can make it a bit hard to concentrate on the garments! Overall, there is a great balance between the two. Refaeli is looking stunning as always in this smoldering shoot, and the garments she is wearing are brought to life ” it’s the best of both worlds.
