Pat McGrath’s Phantom 002: New Limited Edition Makeup Line
Pat McGrath, who does not see any need to use makeup brushes while her deft fingers are so masterfully bringing forth mind-blowing looks, who finds lipsticks to be more than lipsticks, using them also as eyeshadows and blushes, is launching a new limited edition makeup line, after her debut Gold 001 product launch. The limited edition Gold 001 eyeshadow was instantly sold out and now it is the turn of Pat McGrath’s Phantom 002 limited edition makeup line to hit the stores to fly off the shelves in a flash.
Being the most highly sought-after runway makeup artist, as well as the creative-design director for Procter and Gamble and the beauty director of i-D magazine, McGrath couldn’t but launch her own makeup line especially after the sensational success of the golden glowing lips at the Prada SS 2016 RTW runway show. When the royal lips first appeared in October, we were positively bewildered trying to discover where the roots of the lip color are lying, then quite unexpectedly found out that Pat McGrath herself was standing behind this meteoric shimmer.
The new Phantom 002 makeup kit, comprising eight lust-worthy pieces ” Gold 002 (more reflective than Gold 001), Blue 002 pigment, Copper 002 pigment, Fuchsia 002 eye blush, Black 002 eye gloss, Black Caviar gel liner as well as a Blender brush 002, and Flat brush 002, comes to be packed in a holographic pounch. Priced at $240 a kit, the makeup line will go live on December 15 at patmcgrath.com, but as WWD informs, it will be limited edition available only in 1,200 units, which means that we are again challenged to fling ourselves into crazy rushes at this pre-Christmas hasty period.
To celebrate the Phantom 001 launch, Pat McGrath held a crazy neon party at Kellogg’s Diner on December 10, by the corner of Union and Metropolitan Avenues in Brooklyn, titled as #PatsDiner. The neon lights and pank music of the party were absolutely in keeping with the partygoers’ makeup looks, who were appearing one after another carrying razzle-dazzle Phantom 002 pigments on their faces, at times featuring one single blue or gold pigment, other times combining all the four neon shades in a single look. Pat McGrath herself calls the look by Phantom 002 “hardcore glamour ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö√Ü a punk femme fatale”. As she stated in the interview with WWD, “these pigments don’t bleed, they give you lots of playtime and they hold completely”.
Just for your information, Pat McGrath keeps on blurring all the lines between beauty products, this time again suggesting the blazing pigments to be used on lids, lips and cheeks all at once. It goes without saying, that it is beyond our abilities to handle these pigments in a way as to carry something similar Kendall Jenner’s shimmering blue-green eyes at Diane Von Furstenberg or electric orange and fuchsia crystal-decorated eyes at Dior, but one thing is for sure ” Phantom 002 will take you to the next level of makeup aesthetics.
