Joanna Halpin Channels a Rock ‘N’ Roll Style In Free People’s October 2015 Lookbook
Inspired by the rock ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§n’ roll scene and by this summer’s latest trends, which include a great variety of boho-chic pieces, Free People has just released its smoking hot October 2015 lookbook, which features the free-spirited Joanna Halpin showing off some of the American retailer’s best bohemian pieces in a bunch of ethereal, dreamy shots. Free People’s October 2015 lookbook (which you can shop right now here) is, in fact, worth taking a look at even just for the pictures, taken by the renowned pop artist Zoey Grossman, whose notorious well-balanced compositions make the lookbook look like an illustrated urban fairytale. It is indeed a can’t-look-away collection that is surely going to be celebrated not only by those who have always loved this type of style, but also by those who enjoy experiencing with up and coming trends.
From maxi dresses to palazzo pants, the British model totally immerses herself into Free People’s way of rocking the country-chic look, which has actually never gone out of style since the very beginning of 2015. The first thing we notice while browsing through the lookbook is the collection’s hearty colors, which look absolutely perfect with Halpin’s bronze skin tone. Besides its tonalities, another common feature of the collection is the great amount of bare skin that most of the pieces gently show, giving an elegant sensual turn to the entire lookbook.
Most of the latest Free People pieces feature deep-V necklines, geometric cut-outs (used even to adorn some Seventies-inspired chunky heel boots), and tiny shorts and skirts, which immediately bring us back to the late Sixties sexual revolution. The free-love spirit of those years is here followed by some ethnic twinsets and fluid maxi dresses, embellished with metallic appliqués and golden sequins that seem to be inspired by Janis Joplin’s unique sense of style. Even Halpin’s hair seems to embrace the hippie allure.
Fringes, fur vests and wide leather belts give the collection its wild-wild-west scent, here magnificently interpreted by Halpin’s deep looks into the camera. Her fierce attitude is one of the lookbook’s best accessories, skillfully enhanced by the photographer’s amazing skills, and proves us that being happy in our own skin is always the best outfit we could ever wear.
The Free People October 2015 lookbook’s most stunning pieces, however, are the pair of bell-bottom pants, which have been sensually combined with some starry plunging-neckline shirts and long, dangling Native American’s dreamcatchers, which look basically perfect combined with the starry motif. From the above-mentioned leather belts to the dangling dreamcatchers, the collection features a great amount of accessories, which also include golden bracelets and long pearl necklaces, as well as thick metallic rings with a distinctive rock ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§n’ roll attitude.
From the starry night pieces to the rock ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§n’ roll items, Free People’s October 2015 lookbook is absolutely stunning, and we can’t help but hope the amazing collaboration with Halpin and Grossman will keep on being one of the brand’s most featured partnerships.
