Paris Couture Fashion Week Fall 2015 Street Style
The Fashion Weeks may center around the pieces presented on those runway sessions as each brand tries to outdo the other and gain the most attention, and in retrospect, the most sales, but that is not all that it is about. Collector’s items aside, the Fashion Weeks are also about the street fashion that is seen milling about, with fashion divas showing off their impeccable style and sense, also trying to outdo one another in how awesome they can manage to make themselves look. The Paris Couture Fashion Week fall 2015 street style was as dramatic, flabbergasting and cool as the collections unveiled by our favourite fashion houses.
During the Paris Couture Fashion Week these past few days, it was all about the best outfits worn to the best shows, presenting one’s self as impeccably well-dressed as possible. Paris welcomed its first guests but a week ago, the hot weather making the sweat drip around the French capital, as haute couture trendsetters appeared on the seen in very high style, often coming in with cocktail dresses or midi length pieces, along with the translucent looks in silk and voluminous skirts falling to mid-calf. There were also enough ostrich feathers seen for one to begin to worry about the big bird’s dwindling population. There was even a cushion style leather skirt somewhere in there, along with a more pyjama-like outfit, shorts and extra-long shirtdress and all.
The following days were equally as sexy, as ludicrous and sweetly lovely, with dresses appearing of all heights, skirts and slacks or pants worn as well. We saw culottes, ballet flats and high heels. While the first day had an almost shy effect to it, things got nice and bold on the second, the third and the fourth, with pastel colors and floral prints peeking through, and the fur appearing in this heat as well, only on accessories. It would make the wearer melt like a sundae otherwise! Bold colors were big, particularly on one maxi dress that looked to have outdoorsy activity prints all around it, with a darker background, as has been the trend. Even the shoes had taken a bold turn with intriguing heels noticed here and there.
As the days wore on, the shoulders became barer, while the monochrome colors of black and white appeared more often, particularly the third day in. Contrasting color combinations were a common enough theme playing here, and we even noticed a pair of blue overalls. We are still wondering how people can walk in those heelless platforms and noticed a whole lot more in the laced-up boots and sandals department. Actually, how on earth were some of the girls even wearing boots in that heat? Speaking of heat, the final day also saw a lot of sable and mink, which essentially gave us a mock heart attack just thinking about it. Good thing most opted for furry key rings and handbags instead. Pastels on shorts with high neck and long sleeve combinations certainly caught our attention, particularly when paired with matching pastel pink ankle strapped shoes, while we noticed a more relaxed feel all around on the final days. Slouchy pin stripe suits with black flat sandals though? That one is a little harder to fully digest.
