Christian Dior Couture Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Collection
Fashion is such a multitasking field: a combination of modernity, everyday life, the stamina of night and drama fairytale is needed to create that pleasing taste to the palates of diverse personalities in multiple cultures. Yet, a uniqueness should be perceived to make a designer fashion leading. The renowned designing house Dior has persuaded us innumerable times, that it will never lose its definite high position in the fashion world remaining one of the faces recognized by many as heute couture. This time it’s not an exception either! Raf Simons looked to the Flemish masters for his incredibly chic and flamboyant Christian Dior Couture fall/winter 2015-2016 collection that was showcased in a very tropical Musée Rodin resembling a real greenhouse!
Today, on July 6, Dior has arranged their couture runway show making all extremes meet. First, one feels the mild breeze of biblical times, when holy people wore simple pure gowns on their naked bodies: Dior recreated this look showing the beauty of clarity by making transparent white gowns covering the whole body yet letting it be seen through. The subtle nature of this character is embellished by natural minimalist makeup, slightly wavy hair of the models and the high-platform sandals. To show a huge contrast to the tenderness there come overall long gowns with large amount of fabric keeping the simplicity of detailed work.
Deep rouge-violet colored velour trousers made the basis of many ensembles in the Christian Dior Couture fall 2015 collection showing a variety of fabulous matches with knee-long jackets, short blouses, black cloaks and even suits on a naked body. We adore the feminine spotted V-neck dresses made of chiffon that make an incomparable final touch to the youthful look of a girl.
The variety of materials and graphics of the collection made it close to more hearts suiting for a lazy evening stroll in a park to a red-carpet mind-blowing appearance. The many light easy colors and peculiar patterns of some items gave the collection a crisp sense. What could give a better chic, romantic look to a young girl or a mother walking a child in a park, than the tobacco-green light dress with long sleeves and rosy spots on it? An extreme contrast to this slight ethereal sense is brought by the masculine nature of some garments and suits: these create the impression of a strong powerful woman along with her fragile entity. There was so much elegance in the show, in every item starting from the long gold chains to the jeweled vests, fur stoles and long strict coats. One could not avoid the obsession of bright orange-red long coat that gave such a rich energy injecting life into those watching.
Admiring the completely exquisite collection, we cannot but mention the gorgeous red dress matched with large black and white mantle. The model seemed to tell us, that a woman is a whole chest of emotions: treat her well, and she will reward you with best feelings in the world.
So much delicacy, such unexpected solutions and matches, breezy feel with rigorous character… Dior made an undeniably luxurious heute couture collection inspiring others with its deep sensing of style. To materialize so many incompatible inspirational backgrounds like tenderness and masculinity proves the genuine talent of this Belgian designer. And, there is nothing left for us to do but to marvel his nonpareil sumptuous creations.
