Fausto Puglisi Fall/Winter 2015-2016 Collection – Milan Fashion Week
The man from Sicily brings his incredible fashions to the Milan Fashion Week runway. The Fausto Puglisi fall/winter 2015-2016 collection is very much anticipated as there is such a brash and energetic style to his pieces that one cannot ignore their incredible allure. The cultural influences are clearly displayed and perfectly crafted for our pleasure, presented in impeccably suave ensembles. There is something thoroughly sexy both about Puglisi and about the pieces that are made to enchant the regular populations of the world. The fashions utilized are unique, creative and utterly original in their aura.
He may have an obsession with Hollywood and the American world, but he seems to have a healthy balance of contrasting cultures in his collections, drawing upon his Italian and Sicilian ancestry and pouring in his ideals from the Americas in which he has lived. It wasn’t until Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana invited Puglisi to become part of their Spiga 2 retail project that his career finally took flight in 2010 until he finally became a staple of the Milan Fashion Week with his edgy, sharp tailoring and his magical effect on fabric compilations. His inspirations come from ancient Roman sculptures and Baroque architecture, the hedonism of Bacchanal and the modern day Hollywood revelry, all on one.
If we expected edgy, we were not in for disappointed at all! On the contrary, it appears that our dear Sicilian fashion designer has brought the jungle to the stage in very sexy feminine looks that literally manage to knock the socks off the attendees. Studded leather jackets thrown over matching bandeaus and miniskirts sound rather intriguing, don’t you think? We certainly did, what with the studded booties added to the mix and the hair styled in a grunge rocker style wet ‘do. The black and white modern zebra designs made the cut as well, though the combination with the green checks is an interesting one. The cut-out on one side is definitely with paying attention to, just as the green dress that seems to have been split open to reveal a studded black diva bra underneath. The halter mini dress with the swirling zebra print does wonders while we try to make sense of the artistry that went into creating the black leather and green plaid, silver studded and black and white skirted piece that was walked down the aisle.
We’re not going to lie, the footwear was probably one of the best parts of the show and that’s saying much since we loved it all. While we had anticipated a spectacular series, we were not expecting to be provided with the proverbial cookie jar with the tastiest chewy chocolate chip cookies on the runway to date. Pretty fuchsia pumps and zebra print boots look pretty amazing, particularly when you add over the knee punk style studded pieces and colorful print low heels in blue and greet check.
At the end of the day, between the bright yellow coats, the stringy floral designs, the rather Gothic looks and the thigh high slits among the funky layered pieces, we have been presented with one of the best on the Milan Fashion Week and probably will end up staying that way through the next few days. The zinging colors of the Fausto Puglisi fall/winter 2015-2016 collection still have us salivating over their incredible combinations.
