BAFTA Awards 2015 Red Carpet Fashion

The British Academy Film Awards, also known as the BAFTA awards, are hosted annually by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts and considered to be the British counterpart to Hollywood’s Academy Awards. The best in film, including actors, directors, cinematography visual effects and type of film are all included, among many other awards. Since 1947, the BAFTA Awards have been an important part of the British film industry, garnering the attention of worldwide media outlets. This year, last night to be exact, we celebrated the 68th British Academy Film and Television Awards.

With the nominations clear and the hopes for winning high, the stars descended upon the London Opera House, with both local English actors and Hollywood’s darling, Keira Knightley versus Amy Adams, making their appearance on the red carpet. Of course, they were all dressed up to the tee and looked as amazing as they can be expected to be. The couture fashion week may be over but the runway has been transferred to the awards ceremony red carpets, with the chic, the sophisticated, the sexy and the out-of-this-world fashion styles appearing in full force. Here, we have rounded up the best of the BAFTA Awards 2015 red carpet fashion!

Monica Bellucci at BAFTA Awards 2015

50-year-old Monica Belucci still looks as stunning as she always has, with her shapely 171 cm height looking great in a sombre and simple but highly sophisticated dress by Tunisian designer Azzedine Alaia. She was always close to the lovely blonde actress Lea Seydoux, the Bond girls really showing off their delicate beauty. Her black long-sleeved dress kind of reminds us of Morticia from The Adams Family, while her Boucheron earrings catch the eye as they wink at those admiring the still youthful actress in her prime.

Léa Seydoux at BAFTA Awards 2015

Mustard yellow is on for the year of 2015 and Lea Seydoux knows just how to grab attention by refusing to show fear of bad luck in donning the gorgeous yellow Prada number. Her skirt was full of folds of fabric, with cut outs along the sides of the waist, draped and fitted over the figure of the actress in delicate ferocity. The sweetheart neckline and lovely sleeves really added character to the flowing beautiful dress, while the long train definitely followed along with the 2015 trends.

Keira Knightley at BAFTA Awards 2015

The British Academy Film and Television Awards would certainly not be the same without the attendance of the graceful and very English Keira Knightley. This time around, she made sure she was following all the fashion trends as she came to the ceremony wearing a darling floral patterned black and white tulle skirted Giambattista Valli dress that put all the others at the event to shame. She looked like spring perfection itself, what with the tulle, the flowers across her chest, the black and white color scheme and midi hem. The lower heeled pumps ensured that she appeared like a spring maiden ready to bold across a wide open field with the sun beaming down against her bare shoulders. We won’t lie, we love her hair in the medium length waves falling cascading down in a lovely loose ‘do.

Felicity Jones at BAFTA Awards 2015

If you want to see the epitome of sophistication at the awards ceremony, look no further than Felicity Jones with her incredible Dior Couture gown in a creamy white with black top, a simple high neckline and sleeveless design, while her voluminous skirts fell to the floor in black trimmed sections and pretty pink spring flowers dotted the middle of the dress. We have got to say that there are way too few in the Hollywood sphere, who always manage to pull off beautiful couture gowns with impeccable perfection. Felicity Jones is definitely one of those few.

Amy Adams at BAFTA Awards 2015

Custom gowns are becoming common enough on the red carpet and Amy Adams is one of those lovely stars, who enjoys a good custom-made Lanvin gown every now and then. She looked magnificent in a white long number, complete with a jewel studded thick belt-like design on the waist and a tasselled rope tied round twice for added appeal. She’s not the best dressed by any means, but she did look really good, especially with her pin-straight coppery red hair parted from the side and tastefully done up makeup bringing the attention to the eyes.

Julianne Moore at BAFTA Awards 2015

The stunning Julianne Moore knows how to look romantic and sexy all at the same time, while donning a spectacular Tom Ford gown that takes into account the modern trend of braless endeavours and deep V plunges down to the top of the waist. She uses red velvet and finishes off the skirt with a lovely pressed side seam that brings the attention to long legs, essentially elongating the lower portion of the body while showing off just enough skin at the chest area. The velvet choker around the neck adds to the overall appeal of the outfit, while the red lips and strawberry red hair have her skin glowing brighter than usual. Chopard jewelry adorned her fingers and her ears perfectly.

Rosamund Pike at BAFTA Awards 2015

The pretty blonde actress Rosamund Pike looked beguiling in her long black dress by Roland Mouret, what with its halter top and gentle cascade down her body, creating a lovely silhouette. Bulgari label jewelry adorned her ears and wrist, adding some bling to the otherwise rather plain design to the lovely dress. Short hair in a side part with slight waves definitely looks great on the beautiful actress.

Dianna Agron at BAFTA Awards 2015

Lanvin gowns have become a commonplace garment label on the red carpet these days, with Dianna Agron also appearing in a stunning wraparound style red number with a lighter pinkish red ribbon cinching in the waist and the slit appearing in the middle of the lower frontal portion of the dress. Tabitha Simmons heels in black adorned her feet while her hair was pulled back with great volume added to the crown. The red color of the dress certainly looks great with her pale white skin and golden tresses.

Edith Bowman at BAFTA Awards 2015

Edith Bowman looked rather interesting in her Luisa Beccaria gown from the spring/summer collection of the fashion house. Between the color, the lace, the deep V plunging neckline and overall cut of the dress, it was definitely fitting for the 41-year-old Scottish radio DJ. Add on the Yoko London Jewellery and you have a great little combination that suits Bowman’s complexion rather well, if you ask us. The dress color definitely draws the eyes towards it.

Laura Bailey at BAFTA Awards 2015

She looked good. She looked very good. Laura Bailey certainly shone bright in her bridal gown style spectacular Emilia Wickstead dress. The short sleeves and turtleneck looked great on her shapely body, while the full skirt fell from the tight waist beautifully. The main feature of the outfit appeared to be the little clutch with the huge gilded Star of David emblazoned on it and shown off for the world to see. It’s a bold statement she makes indeed.
