Givenchy Pre-Fall 2015 Collection
It appears Givenchy’s been enjoying a rather sensual theme to its 2015 collections, translating the ideal into the newly revealed Givenchy pre-fall 2015 collection as well. The sensuality is born out of the no-nonsense strength as opposed to an avert femininity, with the latest looks boding well for those who consider the stricter, more linear designs the height of artistic fashion. There are 26 looks full of pleats, layers and embroidery, reminiscent of a rather modernistic Puritan influence, impressive in its creation and no less simplistic than any Givenchy design.
We are looking at heavy contrasts, particularly in the stark black color blocking, with the ivory finishing and detailing. We see collars lined with pearls and sporty bands of neoprene, misplaced ruffles and ribbons of silk that bring to mind the 19th century, while the military wool and the strategically placed slits are most certainly of a more modern taste. Full length dresses and floral prints are also part of the Givenchy pre-fall 2015 collection, which includes Swarovski and rubberized stylized polka dots. Dress up or dress down, Givenchy’s pre-fall collection certainly has a piece or two that you simply must add to your wardrobe of 2015, whether it’s the beaver-paneled varsity jacket with mohair sleeves or the racy laced bodices in Tyrolean style, sleek boots or classic T-bar wedges; this collection can only be said to be impeccably well balanced.
The black pantsuit is probably one of our favourites from the collection, simplistic in design and perfectly professional, with just the right amount of black and white, down to the pretty T-bar stiletto heels. High collar, tucked in shirt, white belt and impeccably sleek look overall, this is one pantsuit we’d certainly love to be wearing to the office any day.
Of course, for a more feminine touch, we should go for the black and white geometrically perfect design of the skirt set, complete with a knee length overcoat and low heeled sleek knee high boots that certainly will be protecting the professional woman from the biting cold that’s to come. This can carry over into early fall as well if done right but we can see why it belongs in the pre-fall collection. In either case, this is positively stunning.
Givenchy’s not just working its magic for women’s attire either. We have the men’s version of the black and white designs, but what’s interesting here is the beige jacket with its partially red collar adding a splash of color to the overall darker look. The black patchwork on the jacket itself, which is long enough to cover down to half thigh, is an interesting choice and brings the eye easily to the man’s silhouette, taking nothing away from his looks but adding a subtle hint of mystery.
That block of patchwork translates also into the Givenchy suits, with their sexy appeal and well-tailored designs. The dark grey is certainly suitable for pre-fall, while the black at the top of the lapels alongside the patch on the side is enough to draw one’s attention to all the right places. Rather distracting, but positively attractive. A stark white high collar shirt worn underneath finishes off the professional look with finesse.
What is Givenchy without a rather interesting and perfectly curious addition to its collection? This black and white polka dotted pantsuit, complete with a rather boyish block heeled boot and silk scarf tie, finished off with a rather mesmerising broach that glitters with all that is the brand’s appeal, is possibly one of the most intriguing designs of Givenchy’s 2015 collections. A center part and strict tie in the back for the hair and there’s something so utterly French about this outfit overall!
