Mugler Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – Paris Fashion Week
With the gorgeous Mugler spring/summer 2015 collection just launched at Paris Fashion Week, Georgian-born and Paris-based talented designer David Koma made his catwalk debut as the creative director of the luxury French fashion house. The gig might have been a dream for the young designer, as it was actually Mugler that inspired him to choose fashion design as his profession: he saw Mugler looks in his mother’s magazine as a child, which made him instantly fall in love with the beautiful world of fashion. “I am deeply honoured to take up the role of artistic director at Mugler – a house for which I have the utmost admiration and respect. For me, Mugler is the most extraordinary fashion house with an undeniably audacious heritage,” Koma stated expressing his joy.
As expected, the newest Mugler spring/summer 2015 collection shows a beautiful mix of Koma’s sleek tailoring and the French fashion house’s bodycon aesthetics. Still, what we see here is the modern Mugler woman, who is extremely elegant, sophisticated, but also bold, loving to play with figure-enhancing silhouettes and skin-revealing cuts and slits. In general, understated elegance spiced up with a modern allure becomes the focus of the entire line, bringing spectacular ready-to-wear clothing pieces, which has been the aim of the brand along with the striving to modernize Mugler’s style ideology.
Sleek, fresh and modern is not only the design and shape choice for this beautiful collection, but also the entire color palette, composed of versatile whites and blacks, joining iconic silver shades, cream, light blue and orange hues. The entire line was perfectly polished and monochrome, and we saw passionate fire patterns on a single tube dress in orange and a long-sleeved super-slim cropped top in the same shade, coming matched with a high-waisted red pencil skirt.
Mugler’s signature metal accents played an important role throughout the collection, coming to adorn those minimalist and classy designs, making them way more desirable. We also saw the brand’s iconic snap closures (although used to a very minimum extent), decorating that gorgeous white tuxedo jacket with an altered, modern form, coming paired with sleek white trousers. Sexy plunging necklines, slits and unexpected cut-outs gave a charming daring attitude to the collection, adding interest to those simplistic, yet perfectly proportioned shapes.
The Mugler spring/summer 2015 collection covers not only the Mugler women’s casual and party style cravings, but also shows perfect modern designs for the business lady. Gorgeous tailored pants, smart tuxedo jackets, tube skirts and iconic tuxedo jumpsuits coming in black and white can juice up even the most monotonous business wardrobe.
Like the entire collection, the eveningwear options presented were equally dazzling and jaw-dropping, featuring polished floor-length dresses and skirt and crop top duos with sexy high slits and metallic details. All these dresses, along with the other looks presented were complemented with high-heeled sandals and shoes only, keeping accessorizing to a minimum and focusing everyone’s attention on the killer designs.
We loved the Mugler spring/summer 2015 collection from the very first look presented up to the tiniest details. It was a powerful collection and an impressive start for Koma as the artistic director for Mugler!
