Issey Miyake Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – Paris Fashion Week
Japan has its representation at Paris Fashion Week spring 2015 as well, as here we have the uber-imaginative Issey Miyake spring/summer 2015 collection launched just now! Japanese fashion house Issey Miyake is known for his love to experiment with fabrics and silhouettes and for the skill to surprise the public with every new collection he designs. In general, the Japanese brand designs outfits for people, who prefer the oriental style in clothing and who are not afraid of “ethnic experiments”.
For the Issey Miyake spring/summer 2015 collection, the designer had used a thick textured fabric to create carefully shaped pieces that had an eccentric and bizarre way about them. Miyake models turned heads as they one by one took the French catwalk. The opening look consisted in white, short-sleeved loose fitting dress made of a textured fabric. Designing wide pockets around the hipline of the dress, Miyake gave the dress the shape of an hourglass (perfect fit for women, who want to visibly widen their hips). The pieces that followed, although being in white monochrome, were no less extravagant: long-sleeved dresses and shorts with pockets, wide cropped pants and matching jackets with thick nechlushes (another item very characteristic of the whole collection), simple white mini dresses covered with flowy sheer fabric all did impress a lot.
Miyake continued to wow the audience with the pieces that followed. These were even more extraordinary and flamboyant. Colors went from all black to pastel violet to light blue. Textured and loose oversized pieces aside, the Issey Miyake spring/summer 2015 collection also could boast with its less extravagant and simpler looks. The designer had achieved casual elegance by combining pale blue classic shorts with gray waistlines and button down classic shirts, maxi dresses and shirts with cropped sleeves, dark blue shorts and matching shirts and so on.
As almost any collection for the coming season, the new collection by Miyake was not deprived of patterns (checkered patterns for the win!). Black and white checkered tops were teamed with cropped pants in blue topped with long patches of checkered fabric, sleeveless shirts were paired with matching pants, long-sleeved color-patched shirts were worn with mini dresses with the same pattern and so on. We also saw real Buffalo check print on high neckline oversized tops paired with black miniskirts, on sleeveless elasticated dresses and on long, coat-like jackets.
Still, if there is one thing that is going to be remembered about the Issey Miyake spring/summer 2015 collection for a long time, that is the extraordinary, extravagant and bizarre, but at the same time utterly interesting and one-of-a-kind headwear that championed today on the catwalk (we are more than sure that these too are going to be among the coolest accessories spotted at this year’s Paris Fashion Week).
The Issey Miyake spring/summer 2015 collection was not for everyone, we’ll give you that. The majority of the pieces were too flamboyant and extravagant, but this was a collection for those eccentrics, who are not afraid to stand out from the crowd.
