Anna Sui Spring/Summer 2015 Collection – New York Fashion Week
Today marks the seventh day of New York Fashion Week and in the framework of one of the most famous, the most widely anticipated fashion shows in the world we now present to your attention the Anna Sui spring/summer 2015 collection, a collection that can be labeled with adjectives such as “eccentric”, “one-of-a-kind”, a little “rebellious”. Anna has tried (and we think succeeded) to create a timeless and memorable collection, something about which people will talk a lot. In Sui’s own words, the creation of the collection was a unique “reaction against the masses, and everything looking the same”.
When creating something new, Anna follows one basic rule: there are no rules. Her creations encompass in them freedom and playfulness, feminine elegance and even childish enthusiasm and sincerity. The brand draws attention by being quite unique, and at the same time rather stylish and practical. The Anna Sui spring/summer 2015 collection was imbued with ethnic motifs, feminine silhouettes, colorful and intricate patterns on the fabric obtained through use of prints and embroidery. Anna also brought back the denim, which was featured several times in the collection.
Now let’s take a closer look at the collection to see what surprises Anna Sui had prepared for us this time! The main theme of the Anna Sui spring/summer 2015 collection was the night sky. The collection started off with female models strolling down the catwalk (which, actually, had a very hip and cool purply backdrop with stars and planets and moons and other super fun shapes) wearing denim jackets and shorts embroidered with stars and planets, dark blue knee length dresses sprinkled with flowers, printed dresses topped with long short sleeved denim jackets, long blue and white polka dotted dresses, high waisted denim pants with front besom pockets, polka dotted swimsuits with cutouts up on the front paired with a grayish jacket with cartoony prints, a pair of pale matching shorts and a long sleeve jacket, crochet dresses. More feminine looks were seen at the end of the show, when pairing short hippie dresses with knitted hats, floral dresses with delicate jackets and shimmery asymmetrical dresses showed what a typical Anna Sui woman looks like.
Staying true to the theme of the collection, Sui also presented necklaces with moon and star pendants, black clutches with white star cutouts, boots and wedges stamped with prints of stars, and so on. The footwear in general was rather diverse: first we had high heeled platforms with laces and shiny sporty wedges, then we had lace up and rubber boots and high heel open toe sandals. As for bags, we saw fringed handbags, waist bags with very interesting hipster patterns, small clutches and shoulder bags. Chunky necklace pieces and neck scarves helped to add more sophistication, charm and mystery to the looks.
If you are a fan of the eccentric, if you like being at the center of attention and if you appreciate the stylish and the hip, we are more than sure that the Anna Sui spring/summer 2015 collection has a lot to offer you!
