Ralph Lauren Spring/Summer 2014 RTW ” New York Fashion Week
The last day of New York Fashion Week spring 2014 could hardly have been that spectacular, let there not be the mesmerizing Ralph Lauren spring/summer 2014 collection! Even after 45 years of having been in the American and international fashion market, Ralph Lauren doesn’t lose his talent to surprise the audience every time he casts a collection on the runway. This time, it was again a beautiful and delightful surprise with a bewitching, nostalgic collection, inspired the ’60s mod fashion of London, unlike the designer’s favorite modern England theme used most of the time.
The show at Ralph Lauren started with a line of black, white or black-and-white simplistic, versatile and youthful looks that reminded you of the start of September, when everyone is back to school, mostly being forced to dress in two colors. But forced or … most likely eager to wear these garments?! From girlish to soft masculine looks, the first Ralph Lauren outfits presented surprisingly impressed deeply, while having that few details and that sharp lines and cuts!
Lauren played with men’s ties, while dealing with black-and-white floral patterns and feminine shapes, the result of which was way too cute to be ignored! There you could see leather effects, graphic motives, ruffled hems and patent leather. Prepare to be dazzled by an array of little black dresses spiced up with school-girl style motives, black tailored shorts worn with striped V-neck vests and crisp white shirts, tailored black trousers combined with ruffled peplum blouses, smart men-style pant suits, floral printed skirt suits and graphic patterned mini dresses. These charming monochrome looks were accessorized with caps, small clutches and bags, bracelets, sunglasses, ties, knee-length black socks and patent leather shoes or ankle boots, which all stuck to the main black-and-white theme.
Still black and white aren’t the only colors seen in the Ralph Lauren spring/summer 2014 collection. After a generous amount of monochrome looks showcased, the designer then made a shift to eye-catching bright and daring greens, yellows, reds, oranges and blues. They came either alone or matched with black inserts for toned down looks. Those were mostly A-line bright dresses, trenches or pant or skirt suits, finished off with chain strap handbags, patent leather shoes and sunnies.
The Ralph Lauren evening gowns in the same vibrant hues demonstrated at the end of the show were definitely the stars of the entire Ralph Lauren spring/summer 2014 collection! They were devoid of any distracting patters, prints or details, with massive ruffles being the focus of the dresses. Still, they were refined, breathtaking and glamorous! One just needs to find the perfect high-class event to don these wonders with a great delight!
