Nicholas K Spring/Summer 2014 RTW ” New York Fashion Week
The Nicholas K spring/summer 2014 collection was the first one to be demonstrated as a runway show during New York Fashion Week today, on September 5, 2013. And the start of the Fashion Week is definitely impressive, as Nicholas and Christopher Kunz managed to make it thanks to their minimalist, yet totally outstanding spring 2014 line that has “Apache’ as the theme. Filled with totally wearable, timeless pieces with a twist, the newest Nicholas K collection promises to be one of the leader trendsetters of the upcoming bright season!
The Nicholas K spring/summer 2014 rtw show started up with an array of crisp white looks, light, breezy and with lots of layers, which is what we all expected from the luxury brand. There were some perfectly draped looks presented, which were ideally spiced up with stand-out white knee-high peep-toe moccasins and sandals, as well as Indian-style headpieces and golden bangles.
As the show started to develop, we could see a nice shift from the white looks to muted earth tones, including browns, but also soft plums, grays and then also versatile blacks. All the looks were well-polished and minimalist, and there was apparently no room for prints and patterns. Instead, the designers injected interest into the look by playing with interesting details, such as the native American-style Indian headbands with feathers, or through layering and draping.
Featuring 53 outstanding looks, the Nicholas K spring/summer 2014 collection displayed a nice parade of long, flowing dresses, safari-style shorts, khaki shirts, airy blouses and shorts, tops, jumpsuits, as well as parkas of different lengths that will serve as perfect cover-ups for the transition days. Overall, the line was casual chic and there was nothing overly strict and formal.
Beauty wise, the Nicholas K spring/summer 2014 show showed a beautiful mix of delicacy and modest boldness by bringing careless straight tresses with tiny braids incorporated, and well-highlighted cheeks and eyes! Wholly, judging from the Nicholas K spring/summer 2014 collection, minimalism with a twist is going to be one of the biggest spring 2014 fashion trends!
