United Colors of Benetton Spring/Summer 2013 Campaign
Although the spring/ summer 2013 color trends give us a general idea about the new season’s color tendencies and let us imagine the color mood in the fashion stores in the upcoming months, let’s agree that we still look to Italian brand United Colors of Benetton, as it doesn’t only mean stunning designs, perfect tailoring and statement-making looks, but also a fountain of gorgeous colors and cheerful prints. The new United Colors of Benetton spring/ summer 2013 campaign is finally here to show a myriad of colorful looks for you to refresh your spring wardrobe with the most lust-worthy, passionate and whimsical colors of the season. Alek Wek, Charlotte Free, Elettra Wiedemann, Hanaa Ben Abdesslem, Kiera Chaplin and Lea T are the new faces of colors, who have been selected by UCB to paint our spring and summer 2013 days.
The United Colors of Benetton spring/summer 2013 campaign was shot at the Pin Up Studio in Paris for three days, during which all the new brand ambassadors tried to express their unique interpretation of color. Being totally different in culture, style and cosmopolitan spirit, the female models together with the three male models, Mario Galla, Matias Perdomo and Dudley O’Shaughnessy, intermingle easily, becoming a unique beautiful blend of colors. Each of them tries to give his or her own definition of color. Charlotte Free, for instance, says: “I think I am the happiest when I’m totally alone, like on the dance floor, half naked, covered in sweet‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë¬¨‚àÇ really just getting down.’
Lea T, on the other hand, talks about a more open side of her personality, saying: “I’m really open. I don’t have any secrets about myself. The most curious thing people know about me is that I am transgender.’
For Alek Wek, colors are the best means of expressing her inner world. “For me, colors give me‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë¬¨‚àÇ they bring out how Alek is feeling on the inside,’ she tries to explain.
Kiera Chaplin talks about her motivation of proving to the world that she is capable of doing things. “My motivation has always been to prove that I’m capable of doing things. Everyone was saying “Oh, you’ll never make it anywhere, you’ll never be able to do anything,’ and I just kind of thought, “Ok, I’ll show you, I’ll show you.”
In the United Colors of Benetton spring/summer 2013 campaign, the nine models also try to embody nine different colors: red, purple, pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, black and white. That’s the “Colors by Color’ part of the campaign, which look totally amazing.
After trying to present themselves, their colors, their personality and mood, the nine models give brilliant advice to Benetton fans. Besides the super-colorful and refreshing campaign, United Colors of Benetton brings another surprise for its fans. The images from the UCB spring/summer 2013 campaign will be printed on limited edition t-shirts that will be sold across the world, exclusively at shop.benetton.com and in flagship United Colors of Benetton stores. All the proceeds from the T-shirts sales will be donated to the UNHATE foundation.
