Lanvin Fall/Winter 2012-2013 Campaign
When it comes to exciting and interesting fashion campaigns, we can always count on Lanvin. The luxurious fashion house always manages to stand out with its surprising, and sometimes even shocking style fantasies, bringing campaigns that break the deeply set rules of the industry. For the Lanvin fall/winter 2012-2013 campaign, Alber Elbaz decided to show a more realistic image of how women look like by opting for regular people, instead of models. Thus, women of different ages and sizes feature in the campaign, showcasing the cold season goodies of the legendary brand.
Uniformity plays an important role in the Lanvin fall/winter 2012-2013 collection, but the color palette is much more diverse. As Alber Elbaz told WWD: “I was interested to bring these clothes back to the street somehow, and seeing how they look on different ages, different sizes. It felt like a crazy family, and I like that.’
The result is a one-of-a-kind campaign, which brings to spotlight the desires and worries of real customers, who appreciate the talent and creativity of the fashion house. Moreover, the campaign manages to make dreams come true! We are talking about 82 year-old former apollo dancer Jacqueline ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§Tajah’ Murdock, who always had the dream to become a model. Talking about her style, she told fashionista.com that: “I would say it’s more high fashion. People stop me all the time asking if they can take my picture. My grandson says I should make a t-shirt that says, ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§Don’t ask, just take the picture.’ Anyway, they did not divulge to much about the campaign, but to me, it was a great honor because I had always wanted to go to Paris when I was 18 years old.”
The decision not to stick to any certain age group, shows the campaign’s message well, that is inspiring women with different interests and of different age groups to look gorgeous. The will also be a video “based on the filming of the campaign’, which will get launched on August 21. The printed ads of the Lanvin fall/winter 2012-2013 campaign will be featured in September magazine issues in France, the U.S., Italy, Great Britain, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan, Russia and Brazil, with women’s-only spots running in Germany, Spain, Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and the Middle East.
