The Spring 2019 trends predict an extravagant season. We’ve been all about maximalism since last year, and the era of details isn’t going anywhere soon. During the last fashion month, designers used bows to spice up their collections. Feast your eyes on these runway looks that prove bows are fashion‘s chicest detail.
This fashion month, actresses took over the runways. Christian Siriano invited his muses, Danielle Brooks and Selma Blair to model pieces from his Fall 2018 collection. Just a few days ago, Stranger Things star Sadie Sink opened and closed Undercover’s Fall 2018 show. The actress made her runway debut at only 15 against all recommendations of the CFDA for designers to cast models that are 16 or older. The latest teen actress who walked the runway is Elle Fanning. The 19-year old star is already a fashion icon. Considering her model physique and unique beauty it was only a question of time when she’ll get on the runway.
Elle Fanning opened and closed Miu Miu‘s Fall 2018 show at Paris Fashion Week. Miuccia Prada has been one of the first designers who has spotted Fanning’s fashion potential. She tapped the actress back in 2014 for her label’s spring campaign. The young actress starred alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Lupita Nyong’o in that same campaign. It took a few years for Elle to get in the role of a runway model, but her buzzy debut was worth the wait.
The actress opened the show in an oversized camel coat paired with grunge-meets-chic black boots, tiny blue scarf and very ’80s hair and makeup. She was followed up by the new generation of fashion icons such as Kaia Gerber, Slick Woods, Edie Campbell, Adwoa Aboah, Georgia May Jagger, Fran Summers and more. She later returned to lead the finale in another oversized coat, this time a blend of tweed and leather. A royal blue knitted sweater, blue shirt and lime green scarf around the neck were hiding underneath the coat. The rock n’ roll-inspired black boots were left backstage as the star flaunted chic satin silver high heels with a giant bow on the front. By this point, she couldn’t keep a straight face and started giggling as her fellow actors in the front row got too excited.
Elle’s older sister Dakota Fanning has also worked with the brand. Eight years ago the actress attended her very first fashion show which happened to be Miu Miu. Just recently she was tapped to direct a short film for the fashion house, for its series Women’s Tales which feature stars like Ava DuVernay and Chlo‚Äö√†√∂¬¨¬• Sevigny. It’s still a mystery why the actress wasn’t present at the show to witness her sister’s runway debut. It would be exciting to see a family affair next season. Who knows, maybe the famous sisters will get to walk the runway together.

For the final day of Paris Fashion Week, Miuccia Prada turned back to the 60s and 80s, for a retro-inspired line of chic outfits. Club kids from the 80s and vintage thrift shop pieces served as the starting point for Prada.
The designer continued her fight for diversity in the fashion industry. In her latest presentation, she did it unintentionally, without even realizing that only a small part of her runway cast were Caucasian girls. Prada mostly focused on fashion, and the ways that different girls wore the same outfit. Miuccia is a loud advocate for changes, and in her newest collection, she made a strong diversity statement without trying. Insta-popular models such as Taylor Hill and brand-new sensation Kaia Gerber were also a part of the lineup.
“What was important for me, what was really new was, for the first time, I really worked on girls, on different people and enjoying the way one dress looked different on one girl versus another one. We discovered at the end the show was for very few white girls.’- Miuccia said.
Miu Miu is one of the rare high fashion brands that always offers wearable designs. Miuccia Prada again didn’t disappoint. She presented a collection of 57 chic looks inspired by past decades.
For Spring 2018 Prada included mostly laid-back designs. The whole collection had a beautiful boyish charm but done in a way that didn’t disturb the femininity of the looks. If you are looking for statement-making and bold designs, that will make you stand out in the crowd, Miu Miu is the place to find them.
The layering spiced up the looks. Prada put lace dresses over knitted vests and pants, plaid dresses over T-shirts, sheer embellished pieces over patterned tops and under floral coats. The end result- a glorious mix of attention-grabbing prints layered to perfection. Chic, patterned underwear was completely visible in some of the looks, that gave a dose of sexiness to the Miu Miu Spring 2018 collection.
Right after the Miu Miu Spring 2018 show, Miuccia took her A-lister fans to the newly opened Boum Boum club. Elle and Dakota Fanning, Adwoa Aboah, Emily Ratajkowski, Jean Campbell, Chrissy Teigen, and John Legend were just a few of the celebrities who celebrated another successful collection of the great Miuccia Prada.

The Paris Fashion Week always has the biggest shows. All the big names somehow love Paris. Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Giambattista Valli, Valentino and more brought their ideas of spring 2018 fashion in Paris this season. Opulent shows, out of this world designs and many influencers and celebrities were part of the SS 2018 PFW. The Paris Fashion week, as well as the fashion month, ended yesterday, so let’s take a moment to recall the best runway looks of this season.
Sarah Burton paid attention to the craftsmanship for her latest collection. English aristocrats have a tradition to keep pieces of clothing in the family for decades. So the designer made sure to bring the same idea to her Spring 2018 collection for Alexander McQueen. Blooming gardens were all over the collection in a clothing form. Sarah’s intricate gowns made our hears skip a beat.
Giambattista Valli put together bohemian and aristocratic for the latest collection of his eponymous brand. The designer got out of his comfort feminine zone and for the first time involved masculine silhouettes and unisex pieces in his collection. Additionally, the mesmerizing dresses the designer is known for were also present in the Giambattista Valli Spring 2018 collection. The voluminous gowns were decorated with ruffles and floral print.
Pierpaolo Piccioli took us to the moon with his breathtaking designs for Valentino. His collection involved both futuristic and romantic elements. Besides the futuristic plastic transparent jackets, we had a chance to see elegant gowns.
The legendary Rei Kawakubo stayed faithful to her eccentric design aesthetic. The Japanese designer once again presented out of this world designs for Comme des Garcons that only a few would dare to wear. Her edgy pieces involved a lot of graphics and unordinary shapes.
Feast your eyes on the best runway looks from the SS 2018 PFW.
Hanna Sylla is the new model you will be hearing about from now on. She is the beautiful model that starred at the Miu Miu show just a couple of days ago, at the Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. Since she appeared on the runway everyone is wondering who this gorgeous girl is.
Hanna worked as a cocktail waitress at the Hotel Tremoille in Paris just one week ago. That is when she met one of the most renowned casting directors in the world. Anita Bitton owns a very popular casting agency in New York and is well-known for her excellent eye for young fashion talents. Anita has collaborated with many of the famous fashion brands such as Marc Jacobs, Dior, Mulberry, Alexander Wang, Miu Miu and more. Last Thursday Hanna was working her day shift when she was spotted by Bitton.
That is how Sylla got her debut appearance on the runway. But it wasn’t a low profile fashion show that she appeared in. It was the Resort 2018 show of the luxury Italian brand Miu Miu during the Haute Couture Paris Fashion Week. Hanna walked the runway wearing a dark blue long-sleeved romper, accessorized with race patches. Her makeup was minimalistic, but she had a very bold red lipstick, that complimented her complexion.
“OMG! Last night was just one of the best night[s] of my life,’ the new model shared her excitement.
She also thanked Bitton and her new model friends Hadid, Jenner and Aboah for their sincere support.
Even the most popular makeup artist in the world, Pat McGrath is amazed by Hanna, saying that she is THE face of the season for the Couture Fashion Week.
“Her skin is perfect, she has amazing bone structure and she’s so elegant. Pat McGrath immediately spotted her backstage at the show and said, ‚Äö√Ñ√∂‚àö√ë‚àö‚â§Oh my god, who is she?’ She couldn’t believe how beautiful she is and that she’d never modeled before. Miuccia [Prada, the Miu Miu designer] loved her too.’- says Katie Grand, the stylist for the show, in her interview for Telegraph.
It’s probably just a matter of time when we will spot the beautiful new model on the runway of other prestigious brands. Considering her unique beauty it’s safe to say that many brands would want her face in their campaigns.
Miuccia Prada‘s Resort 2018 Collection is all about catsuits, jumpsuits, and rompers. This time the innovative designer got inspired by mechanics, racing suits, and auto repair shops. She completely transformed the looks of the racecar drivers, by adding interesting details and infusing them with a 40s vibe.
Miuccia designed the popular onesies in many forms, colors, and fabrics. The show started with the eye-catching blue knitted romper worn by the rapper Tommy Genesis. The models who followed wore similar rompers, some short-sleeved, others long-sleeved. They jumpsuits in vibrant colors were decorated with racing stripes and zipped at the front.
The designs that appeared next, were in a laid-back-style. The wide tailored jumpsuits, that remind of the workwear for mechanics, are the most unexpected pieces in the collection. The jumpsuits are accessorized with racing stripes and patches with names and the phrase “Miu Miu club’.
When it comes to prints, Miuccia Prada offered several. Starting with the most popular one for the season- the Hawaiian print, followed by gingham and a fun print with racing flags. So if you are a jumpsuit lover, Miu Miu is the right place for you to shop.
The must-have accessories from the show are the visor hats. Most of the models rocked the super-cool hats patched with the words “Miu Miu’. Another highlight of the show were the eye-catching sandals with 3D details.
The venue choice perfectly corresponded with the theme of the collection. Miuccia chose the Paris Automobile Club in Hôtel de Crillon. The hotel is located at the Place de la Concorde and it has a great historical value. The luxurious Hôtel de Crillon recently reopened its doors completely renovated. Although the Automobile Club is exclusive for men, Miuccia Prada and her girl crew got to use it for the wonderful Resort 2018 show. Her first venue choice was a cabaret, but once that plan fell through she got an even better idea.
“It’s rare to discover a place in Paris that’s so central. And I love this square.’- Prada explained her choice.
Miuccia Prada is definitely one of those designers who knows how to turn their show into a good party. One of the most noticeable performances was the one by the Canadian rapper and model Tommy Genesis. The underground rap queen entertained the guests right before the show. She appeared in a super-cool short romper in baby blue, that is a part of Miu Miu’s Resort 2018 collection. The popular model Slick Woods was the one who took care for one of the DJ sets. The list of songs included “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend’, “You’d Be Surprised’ by Marilyn Monroe, “Sparkling Diamonds’ by Nicole Kidman and evergreen hits by Doris Day and Rita Hayworth.
“The idea was of a cabaret, and so we wanted some performance. That young girl ” she was gorgeous. We started looking at women singing in movies. Actresses perform their songs. It’s not that I understand about music, but I understand feelings. Maybe we sound stupid, but we loved it. We went with it. It’s a tradition of strong women.’- said Miuccia right after the show.
Miuccia gathered many A-list models to walk the runway. Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Slick Woods, Joan Smalls, Jourdan Dunn, Lexi Boiling and Adwoa Aboah were Prada’s army for the night. The biggest surprise was Adwoa’s younger sister, the beautiful Kesewa Aboah who stole the show.
As for the celebrity guests, there were many all-time Miu Miu girls. The fashion influencer and designer Alexa Chung, actresses Milla Jovovich, Elle Fanning, Stacy Martin, Gwendoline Christie and Anna Brewster and supermodel Doutzen Kroes were a part of the beauties who followed the show from the first rows. The young actress Elle Fanning showed up in an amazing embellished soft pink dress, from the brand’s Fall 2017 collection. Elle introduced a completely new way of celebrating the brand’s logo. She proudly showed her Miu Miu temporary tattoo, located on the back of her neck.

High-end Italian Fashion house, Miu Miu has presented an infectiously chic limited edition capsule collection in collaboration with Munich-based luxury online retailer, MyTheresa, and we couldn’t be more delighted!
The Miu Miu x Mytheresa.Com limited edition capsule collection for SS’17 looks incredibly promising, and we can’t wait to see the 28 pieces when they all end up at MyTheresa, ready to be grabbed up and flaunted.
Meanwhile, we get to feast our eyes on the two-minute short film, “Shark’, which exudes a dreamy and classic vibe of this fun-filled collection.
The video is super-fun, and definitely not one of those typical time-wasting fashion videos that talk about everything in the world, and very little about the facts that are actually related to the product. It’s a very personal and intimate drama that begins when two London girls meet at a public swimming pool, flaunting some insanely voguish pieces from this water-themed collection.
One girl is passionate about swimming and wishes to find the perfect partner who would love to indulge in synchronized swimming, while funnily enough, the girl she does find is afraid of swimming, even in a public pool, because her boyfriend was savagely devoured by a shark in the middle of the ocean years ago. Seriously, how did the overrated European fashion scene even deserve something as terrific as this?
Even though the content line has a strong tinge of dry humor, the girls talk about fears, dreams, passion, phobias, and a lot of emotions that are pretty real for all of us out here. After all, beneath that Prada dress or statement coat, we’re all people trying to cover up our flaws and deal with our fears, right?
Miu Miu has given this powerful collection a divine touch of its signature kaleidoscopic blend bright and soft hues. The collection comprises of 28 high-end designs, ranging from insanely chic ready to wear clothing staples, handbags, footwear, and heaps of accessories. Miu Miu’s playful and fun-loving vibe is etched all over this collection, and we all get a chance to get our hands on some energetically bright prints, and powerfully girly ornaments.
If you’re a fan of polka dots, furry flats, ballet pumps, romantically pastel shearlings, bright floral shirts, and outfits that exude an irresistibly positive energy, this is truly the collection of your dreams.
The prices start from USD $755 and go up to USD $2,112. You can shop all 28 pieces of the collection at mytheresa.com today.
Miuccia Prada knows how to have fun! For her Miu Miu fall/winter 2017-18 ready-to-wear collection, the Italian designer brought a breath of fresh air and childish fun to Paris Fashion Week, letting her own wintery rainbow shine brightly down the catwalk.
While watching the runway show, the first thing one cannot help but notice is the collection’s imposing color palette, as Miuccia Prada took her “girl at hear’ motif extremely seriously, translating it to a variety of shades, patterns and different color combinations that are almost impossible to keep track of. This collection was, in fact, a multicolored assault on the senses, which enhanced its effect thanks to Miuccia Prada’s materials of choice.
If there’s one material that particularly enhances the saturation and fluffiness of the colors, that’s, needless to say, fur, and Miuccia Prada was definitely not afraid to use it in her collection. Instead of only utilizing fur embellishments on the clothing pieces, or on the mules ‚Äö√†√∂‚Äö√тĆ la Gucci, Miuccia Prada covered most of her Miu Miu fall 2017 rtw boots in colorful fur, setting the bar higher for anyone who will try to replicate them.
High boots aside, the Miu Miu fall/winter 2017-18 ready-to-wear collection featured ultra-cozy, slightly loungewear-inspired fur coats too, of course all dipped in different bright colors that varied from light blue to orange to lilac and green. The latter was decisively prominent throughout the collection, and will surely appeal to those who are looking for Greenery-infused items.
Fur and colors aside, this collection also included two other main motifs, with both of them accentuating the figures and treating us to timeless silhouettes one cannot help but fall in love with.
First off, Miuccia Prada elegantly cinched most of the waists with leather belts, often matching them with flared skirts and double-breasted jackets that not only were winter-ready, but also romantically bon ton. The second main motif was more Eighties-inspired, on the other hand, as it balanced the hourglass figures with structured, exaggerated shoulders.
Last but not least, the Miu Miu fall/winter 2017-18 collection presented other two recurring and appealing items, which made us wish for a see-now-buy-now collection indeed. Each one of Miuccia Prada’s latest outfits featured either big, warm and fluffy fur hats, or Miu Miu’s signature handbags, which will be geometrically structured and relatively small in their sizes for the upcoming cold season. Miu Miu’s fall 2017 woman does not need to carry too many personal belongings in her purse, as she is going to be all about jocose fun for the next 12 months.

Miuccia Prada has always loved to play with vintage motifs for her Miu Miu collections, and she did stick to this love affair for the latest Miu Miu pre-fall 2017 collection as well. Like many other designers, Miuccia Prada’s take on the pre-fall 2017 collection is all about the past too, although here seen almost exclusively through a mid-twentieth-century-themed kind of fashion.
For this Miu Miu pre-fall 2017 collection, Italian designer Miuccia Prada brought her richly textured fashions to the Forties and Fifties, translating the same Fifties-inspired designs she used for her spring/summer 2017 collection to warmer, more autumnal-approved fashions that could effortlessly inspire our daily outfits in the upcoming 10 months, from day to night.
Although being extremely coherent in styles, the Miu Miu pre-fall 2017 collection is also incredibly diverse, with separates aplenty dominating the scene. From the Fifties and also Forties fashions, Miuccia Prada brought all things glamorous and feminine, though here filtered through a girl squad-approved lens.
The concept of a cool girl who is not afraid to be herself is, in fact, the line-up’s main, unapologetically chic theme, especially when translated to street-style-inspired staples (albeit here intended as Fifties-approved street wear garments).
The varsity jacket is the focal point of Miu Miu’a pre-fall 2017 collection, here revisited and modernized thanks to brooch-like embroideries, such as flowers and swallows, beaded pearls and contrasting patterns on the sleeves. Starting from the varsity jacket, Miuccia Prada built a collection, the single items of which can be easily mixed and matched with one another, like school girl pleated skirts, cropped mom jeans, button-down shirts and even uber-feminine frocks, with the latter meant to be paired either with the collection’s girly staples, or the mannish-inspired attire options.
For her pre-fall 2017 collection, Miuccia Prada managed to add glamorous vibes of femininity here and there, too, although always keeping the “girl squad’ point of view in mind. Each one of Miuccia Prada’s flirty proposals appears to be as a fierce fashion statement to wear in order to feel sexy and at ease with yourself, as proven by the extra touches of coolness given by standout accessories and details like fluffy hats, velvet studded platforms, puffed shoulders and headpieces that really transformed the collection from being couture-esque to pop.
Another appealing protagonist from this line-up was the eye-catching urban dynamicity Miuccia Prada added to her outfits, as seen for example in the must-have accessories many are already praising as a real it-girl’s pre-fall must-have essentials. Everything from the fall colors (aside from a Greenery Green that is obviously a win-win hue) to the edgy oversized shapes, exudes a kind of coolness one needs to face the end of the summer flawlessly, and we couldn’t be more satisfied with the results!

Elle Fanning reunited with Prada-owned Miu Miu for the newest Miu Miu spring/summer 2017 ad campaign, the colored pictures and timeless figures of which instantly evoke different eras, with motifs of an endless, full-of-love summer.
Entitled “Suddenly Next Summer’, Miu Miu’s spring 2017 ad campaign not only features longtime friend Elle Fanning (who last posed for a Miu Miu campaign three years ago), but also models Karen Elson, Carolyn Murphy and Lara Stone alongside fresh-faced it-girls Elsa Brisinger, Birgit Kos, Sonia Ben Ammar, Mayowa Nicholas and Ellen Rose.
The cast’s choice did not come by chance since, as captioned in one of Miu Miu’s official posts on Instagram, the label aimed at gathering “a cast of women who represent the ever-shifting spectrum of fashion industry visibility.’
Captured by British photographer Alasdair McLellan, the Miu Miu spring 2017 ad campaign takes us to Point Dume, California, where McLellan tried to recall some cool, summery retro vibes as seen in classic films, such as “Il Sorpasso’ and “Beach Blanket Bingo.’
Evocative and dreamlike, the Miu Miu spring 2017 campaign also let creative director and designer Miuccia Prada conceptualize and transpose into advertising the “twisting and turning mediation on what a woman wants to wear, what she is expected to wear, what she has worn, what she can wear and where those shifting ideas collide.”
As much as we could describe Elle Fanning as a sort of hybrid between an actor and an it-girl/(role) model, this campaign also becomes one with both advertising and storytelling, treating us to a coherent continuum of pictures that can be perceived as a mere work of art or marketing, depending on the ways we look at them.
The staples Miuccia Prada decided to showcase throughout the pictures recall this motif as well, as she paired jocose swimwear designs, such as caps (the latest Miu Miu spring 2017 collection put a lot of emphasis on Fifties-inspired swimwear garments) with knit bikinis, elegant leather purses and overcoats, blurring the lines between ready-to-wear and haute couture.
Instead of focusing on one single type of clothing style, Miuccia Prada decided to mix each one of her collection’s themes together, layering extremely wearable garments with more conventionally soigné ones. Layering is thus key here, both in terms of the actual staples and the actual structure of the images.
“The collages, composed as they are of multiple layers of thin images, reinstate the notion of the constructed identity: the creative role every woman takes on when imagining and organizing her public-facing life,’ the Italian fashion house stated in a recent press release.
Each of the Miu Miu spring 2017 ad campaign’s pictures, along with the brand ambassadors, escapes “neat classification’ as well as “obvious stereotype’, setting us free from mono-dimensional fashions in favor of a more multi-faceted, open-minded kind of artistic means of expression.
